I built this house for a friend. In the end, after about 5 or 6 weeks, it looked spectacular. The caveat is in the detail. For a finished look, you need siding, shingles (or other roofing), paint, glue, etc. The kit is $150; plan on another $300.00 if you want a finished exterior. If you buy a lighting kit and a moderate amount of basic furniture, well, you get the idea. This is a fine project, but not a small project.

This doll house kit comes with the pushed out pieces that one needs to build the basic doll house. It is much more complicated then it sounds and is a time project that requires the skills of an adult. There is a great deal more that can be done to such a doll house such as electric plug ins and wall paper. This kit does not come with roof tiles. It is the tip of the iceberg so to speak. However it is beautiful once assembled which my husband and I are not quit finished with yet. If you love to sand and paint and love three dimensional puzzles you will love it. I do not consider this a child's toy.
