5.0 out of 5 stars Harry Is Magic August 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Harry, a beagle, is wandering around the neighborhood and happens upon a little girl named Marlee. She is desperately wishing that she could be a princess when she sees Harry. She takes a liking to Harry and takes him home only to find out that Harry is no ordinary dog. Harry is a magical dog and Marlee is the recipient of Harry's magical powers.

This book is an enjoyable read for children, it is warmhearted and entertaining. The illustrations are so bright and colorful they seem to jump right off the page.

The Hairy Dogmother is a book that will capture the attention of any child. It's filled with surprises and good feelings while the lesson of the story is conveyed. I recommend this book for parents to read to their children and for young readers to enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars WE'RE JUST WILD ABOUT HARRY! August 9, 2012
By GennMom
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My daughter is a huge fan of FURMAID by the same author Julia Dweck. Now she has a new favorite in "Harry the Hairy Dogmother." The book description mentions that Harry has a secret. We thought that being a Hairy Dogmother was the big secret, but wait there's more. Harry has another unusual talent that Dweck brings to light in a really humorous and creative way. The illustrations by Delfin Barral are colorful and bold with an interesting point of view perspective, so that any little girl can imagine herself as a character in the Hairy Dogmother adventure. Dweck dedicates the story to every little girl who has ever dreamed of being a princess. The story has lots of laughs and a valuable message. The rhyming is spot on and fun. My daughter who is a primary reader had fun anticipating the rhyming words at the end of each line. With 30 pages of fun text and illustrations it is well worth the cost. The ending leaves room for more "Harry" adventures, which we look forward to reading. Dweck is carving out a name and following in high quality children's ebooks.

5.0 out of 5 stars a very hairy fairy tale May 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Harry is a Hairy Fairy Godmother, oh, and is also a Beagle. He crosses paths with a girl that want to be a princess. He grants her the wish, everything from the princess nails to the princess home. In the end, Harry and the girl find that no matter what you wish for, it doesn't matter without family.

The author gives a great hidden message. the book has great illustrations and a comical, rhyming flow. My 5 year old son and I both enjoyed this very hairy fairy tale.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hairy Harry September 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Kids love dogs and they sure will love Harry because this particular species can talk (courtesy of a cracker) and carries
a magic wand. What more could dog lovers ask for? Harry helps his new friend Marlee find all kinds of happiness and understands
her too. Julia Dweck knows exactly what tree to bark up at and the illustrations are simply delicious. This 'tail' unfolds like
a sumptuous banquet. Kids will say, read that again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Harry dogmother entertains children and adults alike! August 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The main character of this children's book is Harry, a fairy dogmother, how cute! He's like a fairy godmother with magical powers but more hairy because he's a beagle. Harry helps a young girl, Marlee, make her dream to become a princess come true. This book has rhymes that are very easy to read and follow, and is illustrated in bright and fun colors that are quite engaging for children and adults alike. The artist did an excellent job depicting the emotions and behaviors of the dog through his facial and body expressions. Harry is adorable. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and highly recommend it for young girls and dog lovers. I hope there will be Harry sequels in the future!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Hairy Dogmother captivates and delights! August 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The Hairy Dogmother is a terrific "once upon" a time with a modern day twist. In classic fairy tale style, Marlee dreams of becoming a princess; however, her wish comes true at the hands of an adorable mutt named "Harry." Dweck's writing has a great comic sense, which is well complimented by the comic style illustrations of Delfin Barral. Some pages incorporate speech bubbles, which young readers will enjoy reading and performing, as the story is read. The story is engaging and fun to read aloud. This whimsical pooch with a showman's flair is sure to captivate young children everywhere. At the end, Harry takes off on another adventure inferring that that there are more adventures ahead for this hairy fairy. Until then, I'd recommend checking into Dweck's other wonderful eBooks, which are all available on Amazon
