Title: The Hammer and the Frog, God Watches Out for Me
Author: Floyd E. Friedli
Publisher: WestBow Press
ISBN: 978-1-4497-2680-5 (e)

“So, why in the world would God protect me? Maybe because I believe; maybe I have a larger purpose. Who knows?” Floyd E. Friedli writes in his book, "The Hammer and the Frog, God Watches Out for Me."

At one hundred and twelve pages, this paperback book targets those wanting to know one man’s opinion on how his life experiences convinced him there is definitely a God. With one swear word, the topics related to sexual intercourse and death may be inappropriate for immature readers. This reader wishes all pronouns of God were capitalized for reverence.

After an introduction, the author provides twenty-four chapters about the important events in his life, his philosophies, how he arrived at his beliefs, and how the world should be; all based on the invaluable lessons he has learned from God.

Raised as a Presbyterian, he has been married to his wife, Patricia, a Catholic, for over thirty years and they have a grown, married son. The first chapter goes into great detail about several life-threatening events regarding falling out of a tree as a child, playing a friend’s sadistic game of baseball with a frog and a hammer as the bat, almost drowning, and spinning out in automobiles.

In the same pattern of minutia, chapter after chapter include meeting his wife with a music connection, getting his Ph.D. in chemistry, and his wife’s surgeries and infertility issues along with having sex to get pregnant. Giving his wife’s before and after body measurements, he tells how they went to Dairy Queen during her pregnancy.
