Too much redundancy in this video, much like the book I hear. What can be done in 5 minutes was stretched into 1 hour.
The first 30 minutes are showing how to calm a NEW (under 3 months - "4th trimester") baby. The remaining is parents Q&A.
There are no answers in this video that you cannot find for free online. We were hoping to get something new out of it for our still fussy 4-months-old, but alas...
Also the year for the video says "2012". Are you sure about this? Some of the snippets look kind of old. Plus the paediatrician is talking about TAPING the calming sounds even though we have been in a digital age for a while now.

After 5 straight weeks of sleepless nights, my husband and I were walking zombies. Our infant would wake every hour to 2 hours throughout the night and just scream. During the day she would also scream uncontrollably - even though the doctor found nothing wrong with her physically. I had convinced myself that she just wasn't a happy baby like our 6 year old was and life with Isabel would be tough!
Then I searched Amazon one night under "Colic" and found this book and video. Even though we have absolutely no time to read, we did watch the video (while she wailed). My husband tried the swaddling and shhing techniques that night and she quieted down after about 10 minutes. Now 1 week later she calms after 5 min or so AND she is sleeping 4 hours at a time. We feel great and she finally looks peaceful - and not agitated.
Both the book and video are geared toward the first 3 months of life.... and the notion that most babies 1st 3 months of life are really the 4th trimester in their developement. Our first child slept soundly from day one..... but we were blown away with this second one. Thank you Dr. Karp! We finally feel like humans again and the stress level in our home has dropped tremendously.

That's 10 bucks not well-spent. We watched and rewatched and tried this in earnest, but the technique did nothing for our daughter. This may work for some, but the clever editing in this video makes you believe every baby this guy touches magically calms down and goes to sleep. Bull.

This was overrated. A friend recommended we watch this but we didn't feel it was worth paying $10 to see. The video looks outdated and the tips presented are repeated several times just making the movie longer. We haven't used any if the tips. It should be free.

Keep in mind the power of editing videos!!! Why would this product show anything but successful application of the suggested techniques? We tried all of these over and over, in sequence, in different ways with low to moderate success. Perhaps that's better than nothing but over time our baby got used to the efforts and the "shushing" drove him crazy after a short while. Anyone who views this should not expect anything more than temporary, short-term relief and be prepared for the techniques to backfire once your baby gets accustomed to the new efforts to calm him.

Don't spend your money on this movie, all the same ideas can be found for free online. The movie focuses on 0-3 month babies.

The author is selling tricks of the trade we used to know about and that were passed down from mother to daughter but were lost over time. Swaddling is huge, holding a child on its' side is helpful for calming, shushing or humming in a low tone also calms a baby. You don't need to pay for this information that should be free to all. Just google it or ask around to a bunch of parents and they will give you everything you need,

Do NOT waste your money on this!! I guarantee that you already know all of the techniques in this video. The ONLY difference is that he suggests doing all the comforting measures all at once, instead of one by one.
The video can be summed up in one peice of advice: swaddle baby, turn on side, and shush in ear.
The video is just over an hour long, and a good 20 minutes could be cut out by not repeating the same bits of info 4-5 times.
On top of it, multiple people have now tried the suggested techniques on my daughter, have had NO success. The babies in the video are calmed almost instantly by his "5 S's", but they seem to just agitate my baby more.
And the fact that this dude actually recommends putting a swaddled baby in a swing? What drugs is he smoking! Not only is that dangerous, you are violating any liability the manufacturer might have by improperly using the product.
Please, I am a first time mom who had never even held a baby before my little girl was born, and I knew some of the things he was talking about were a load of crap.

I feel like this movie was somewhat useful but completely overrated. Have not recommended anyone this far to buy it.
