Have purchased another one recently & it's a real happy hit!!!

After a while, they do wear out, but they are worth what they may cost, because the effects are like ambrosia to the scalp.

The little ball tips are not smooth but they have a ridge in the middle which is fairly sharp metal.

I absolutely LOVE this gizmo and so does my husband. I first had someone use this on me at an oxygen bar in Las Vegas and it made me all squirmy with good sensations so I had to get one of my own. It feels wonderful on all the pressure points of your scalp. Makes yummy goosebumps all over and definitely eases tension in your head and neck. If you're ticklish, don't worry, my husband is the most ticklish person I know but this doesn't tickle him and he loves it.

I bought it for my girlfriend as one of many gifts, and we were excited about using it. After using it for the first time she complained about it scratching her scalp. I used it and it did the same thing to me. The little ball tips are not smooth but they have a ridge in the middle which is fairly sharp metal. So instead of returning it i will probably try to sand it down to make it smooth or we will just not even use it again.

Like the other review, I expected something different ("The Tingler" is battery operated and actually vibrates - much cooler than this "Happy Head Trip") and the package had been opened and taped shut. Worst of all, the little copper beads actually had sharp edges!! We filed them down, but it was a big disappointment.

Ok, a very quick review because that's all that is needed. The Head Trip is quite possibly the most relaxing feeling I have ever experienced, somewhere between a hot tub and a full body massage, except just for your head and you don't get wet. It looks vicious, but each little tip caresses the pressure points and nerve endings in your scalp to elevate your mental state towards that of ecstacy (the euphoric feeling, not the drug). It's so simple to operate that anyone can do it, even on yourself. I don't own one personally, but I drive out of my way to a store that carries them just to stop in and relax a bit with the Head Trip. It sends shivers down my spine every time, and I'm feeling happier and happier the more I just think about it. Oh, boy, I think I'll buy one right now.

I tried the Happy Head Trip massager in a shop in Japan where it was placed at a stand for trial, and immediately decided to buy it notwithstanding a rather high price, because it felt great. I have a similar looking, but much cheaper thing at home, it is also good, but the Happy Head Trip massager just feels and acts differently: it is longer, gives a more prominent sensation, legs are not as flimsy as in cheaper analogues and can be bent to different positions - thus, I have shaped it as a half-circle, which allows moving it down the head until the very base of the neck and not touching face, or massaging legs and arms in the area of knees and elbows. Other reviewers said the tips were scratchy - in my case, they are smooth, no problem with that. It stays on my table and whenever I pass by it, I grab it and apply for a couple of seconds, to have my head feel refrheshed. Did not feel the urge to do so with the cheaper analogue that now lies somewhere in a back drawer. So I do recommend it - though wish it were a little cheaper.

Product is good but was I disappointed it didn't mention in the details, the metal bars come straight in a packet and have to be manually adjusted to the shape in the picture. They have to be straightened again if you plan to travel. They are easily bent which makes it difficult to keep you favourite shape. If I had known about the packaging, I wouldn't have purchased. The item is good quality though and the end beads are smooth.

I had one of these for about 10 years, took that long before it needed replaced, my husband brushed my hair almost every night, and used this to massage my scalp for me as well. I was a very pampered puss! After a while, they do wear out, but they are worth what they may cost, because the effects are like ambrosia to the scalp. The one I had was exactly like this one.
