5.0 out of 5 stars Bewitching & Intoxicating! September 23, 2006

My husband & I are HUGE Sarah Brightman fans. Ironically, we saw her Harem show TWICE (in Phoenix) but never realized at the time that this album, which was being sold at both concerts, was different from the original Harem CD. Costly Mistake!

A few months ago, on her Chinese fan website, I heard a sample of her beautiful version of Enya's song Watermark & learned it was on this CD. It took some work but eventually this CD was available on Amazon. It was pricey. I hesitated for a few seconds, then proceeded.

Am I ever glad! I cannot get enough of these songs. I completely agree with the Venezuelan reviewer's song by song ratings, especially on "Will You Join Me". Hauntingly & soulfully exquisite - close to an out of body experience! Sarah Brightman, producer Frank Peterson, and their collaborators have made the world's most beautiful, complex, & creative music. This album is a stellar example & a wonderful complement to Sarah & Frank's finest, the Harem CD.

This will sound incredible to many of you, but once you've experienced Sarah Brightman's work, nothing you've ever known before will satisfy as it once did. She is one in a million. Seeing her sing is almost supernatural - how can such sound arise from this tiny woman? Every molecule of her being is there when she delivers her highest & most sustained notes. It is spine-tingling! Afterward, she looks just as amazed & delighted as her audience!

One more thought. I've read many reviews of Sarah's work on Amazon. Her real fans know of her four decade devotion to her craft and the evolution of her vocal, musical, and collaborative talent. I'm bemused by the rare but sometimes harsh criticism in some reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Total Masterpiece that every fan MUST HAVE!!! August 7, 2006
By Rusko
I'm a new Sarah Brightman fan and I have the most important CD's that any SB fan needs. When I saw this CD in her official website for sale, I KNEW that i had to buy it.

This CD is a Special Limited Edition released for her 2004's Harem World Tour, and It was for sale only in venues (later in her website).

So I bought it, and when I heard it for the first time, I was totally breathless!! Her amazing voice never been better and magical. It has Gregorian Chorus, slow deep songs and dance music, it has it all!

Warning: Some of the songs are so touchy and deepful that can cause mellow and sad mood. Hahaha.

Note: The songs were lost tracks during her career's late era, recovered and finished for this album. Some of them were working tracks for the "Harem" album which didn't make it to the final cut.

Well here's the tracklisting with my rating:

01. Kama Sutra (2:22) 9/10 > Studio version of the Intro of Harem Tour (without the male voice)

02. Join Me (4:18) 15/10 > The best track of the disc. Features the Gregorian Choir [a must have listen!]; Makes me have chills during the whole song. It was covered later by Sarah's sister: Amelia

03. My Imagination (3:57) 8/10 > A very light up-tempo song

04. Don't Give Up (5:22) 10/10 > Another masterpiece. Also features the Gregorian Choir.

05. Forbidden Colours (4:30) 3/10 > My less favorite track. Slow vocals with beats during the whole song.

06. The Smile (5:17) 9/10 > Another great song that let you go to another world. Although it doesn't have much Sarah vocals (Only 2 chorus and 2 verses) it's very awesome. Features a guitar sound at the end.

07. Pay No Mind (4:01) 10/10 > A very up-tempo dance song. Very cool to hear!

Omg!Huge sarah fan,but can do without a lot of her stuff(even though I own almost everything by her.)I had never seen this cd b4,saw it & the great ratings here on amazon and couldn't resist buying it even though it's so pricey, but I'm so glad I did as surprisingly this may be her best album.I say surprisingly because it was released in such small numbers, the production values are 1st rate and I can't understand why it hasn't been rereleased. On cd or mp3.if you liked Harem and dreamchaser as I did I think it's safe to recommend this to you,if you can afford it ,which I can't but did anyway! :-)

I like this album because of a particular song on it that I enjoy, especially the way that Sarah Brightman sings it - she has a beautiful voice - "Forbidden Colours", the song made famous by David Bowie in the movie "Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence".
