Book Description

There is nothing more frightening in the world of horror, than a ghost story that is actually true. When Peter takes his new wife Stacy up to the mountains for a weekend of fishing, hiking and hopefully some intense cuddling, their day starts off great, when they think they find the perfect spot. The seclusion of the little lake seems at first to be a plus, but they soon realize that there is a reason the area around the black waters and the looming hills is empty. "Don't let the night catch me here!" These are the words that run through their minds as the day folds in on itself with terrifying speed, releasing something blacker than the night.
This book contains three stories, all of which are paranormal in nature. The first two are works of non-fiction, true to life ghost stories, if you can believe it, but the third is completely fictional.

1.0 out of 5 stars How was this ever published? June 8, 2011

I really wanted to like this book. All things considered (e.g., the reviews) I assumed that for the .99 cents I'd be paying that, yes, this would be a good thriller. I quickly learned that with this author you get what you pay for. How did this book make it past an editor? In the first chapter alone the word 'tent' was used 56 times. The author has a hard time spelling and varying wording as to not bore the reader. Also, just to note, "PMSing" is not the same as women's intuition- as you will see on page two when the author tells the audience that the female character "feels odd" but is probably just PMSing. I have never been so turned off by an author as I have with this one. Never, never again!

5.0 out of 5 stars loved it June 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Whether or not the first two stories were true, they were well written. No frills, just raw and earnest fear. Fear comes in many shapes and form, and I think Peter Meredith delivered in this collection.

I loved The Haunting at Red Feathers - the story. It's that feeling you feel...when you can't see IT, but you know IT's there. The hair on your body is raised, you feel that foreboding and you just know, even though you think it is silly, you just know, you got to run! If you love that in a story, then I would definitely recommend this story

I loved the way the main character in Pen was developed. You hate her, you sympathize with her and then you possible empathize with her - yes empathize, what would you do if you were being stalked by an (SPOILER ALERT) indestructible pen?

As for the formatting for Kindle, I had no problems.

What more can I say? Just read it! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Goosebump City February 18, 2011

First off not quite a novella in length, more like a long short story but well worth the 99 cents! THe guy who wrote this says its a true story and it sounds like it is, in his writing. I got into it very quickly and it really creeped me out. This is a good thing since it has been a while since I have been freaked out while reading a book. Just glad I'm not going camping anytime soon.

. The first two were suppose to be true. I thought they were dumb and the third was fiction. Not crazy about this book.

More About the Author

Unlike almost every other author I run into, I wasn't reading at the age of two and writing my first poem by my third birthday. Quite the opposite, I hated to write. I never learned to type and my penmanship hasn't progressed beyond a second grade level. Since I would fret over every little error, an e-mail used to take me close on an hour to write if the client was important enough.

But that all changed last year at about this time. With the economy in the dumps, my company decided to rework our website and in order to attract attention to it, I was told I should write articles and submit them online. So I painstakingly wrote five articles. They were terrible.

Not terribly written, just dull. Writing about the technical aspects of LED lights is super boring and not just to me but for everyone. So with Halloween coming up, I decided to write about the two super-natural occurrences that I had been involved with instead. The boss wasn't exactly happy, but seeing as she's my wife, what could she do?

After that, I wrote a book. I said to myself, hey you wrote a five thousand word short story, why not write a book? How hard could it be? When it was done, I said, why not make it a trilogy? How hard could it be?
