About the Author
Georges M Halpern, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Nutrition, University of California, Davis, and is the author of twelve books on natural substances and solutions. He has lectured in seventy-four countries, acted as consultant to many governmental and private agencies, and is currently focusing his research on the positive roles of pleasure. Dr. Halpern is a member of twenty-seven academies and scientific societies worldwide, and was made a commander in the French National Order of the Merite Agricole for his original contributions to French cuisine. He is a citizen of France and the United States, and resides in Porrtola Valley, California.
