I started cooking for our Beagle puppy at 5 months old using the book, The Whole Pet Diet by Andi Brown. In addition to a few recipes for dogs, she provides wonderful recipes for pet vitamin supplements. Once I was comfortable with the concept of cooking for our puppy, I began my search for an aditional cookbook. This one is great. It is full of easy recipes that can be cooked quickly. It also provides quick health tips and recommended portion sizes for your dog. To each meal, I add the vitamin powder supplement and coat oil supplement from Brown's book. Our puppy is now 9 months old and he sports a vibrant coat and great smelling breath.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! November 2, 2008
Format:Spiral-bound|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was looking for a book, that would include receipes for treats, meals, and overall dog health. This has everything, and always includes a vet's opinion, which I think is very helpful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple & Easy January 4, 2009
Format:Spiral-bound
Until I purchased this book, I was only considering making my dogs treats and meals. This book convinced me to go for it. I found almost all of the recipes to be easily explained using a minimal amount of ingredients... therefore making it a reasonable thing to do. I know for sure I will be making all of his treats from now on. Not only will be it be healthier but will also cost less and last just as long! I'm excited to try some of the recipes!!

If you are looking for an easy guide to cooking for your dog, this is a great book!

I found the recipes too simplistic to give me confidence that each meal contained all the necessary nutrients. I expected an addition of vitamins and minerals.
