Book Description

Discover more abundance, encouragement, and simplicity in your life. Be present, see the divine at work in all circumstances, and experience ordinary life as sacred. Learn to practice the art of abundance as a form of spiritual awareness based in gratitude. Quotes, meditations, prayers, and instant inspiration to remind you that life can be good, no matter what challenges you may be facing right now. The Heart of Abundance offers selections from the Artful Living series and other books by Candy Paull.

We live in transformational times. When the road to transformation gets bumpy and we feel lost and disoriented, it is even more important to ground ourselves in the firm realities of daily life. Mindful living, slowing down to notice and savor the blessings and beauty of the ordinary, and soothing our spirits with thoughtful and loving actions can help us through times of doubt, despair, and loss. Practicing the art of abundance is a form of spiritual awareness based in gratitude.

In difficult and demanding times, it is essential to understand that abundance begins within. Whatever you see in your outer circumstances is a reflection of what you have already created by your thoughts, attitudes, and actions. As you change your thoughts you affect the outcomes of your life. Living in the higher energy of positive attitudes and a more conscious way of thinking opens the door to new possibilities, aligning you with the energies of God’s nature.

As you become aware of how rich life is with blessings, your attitude toward life shifts. Simple gratitude tells the Universe that you appreciate life’s gifts and are open to receive more gifts. It shifts your energies from an attitude of lack to an attitude of receptivity and thanksgiving. Learn to see the Divine givingness at work in your life.

Your abundance is my abundance. Celebrate the abundance!

There is a great gift when we realize that the journey of life is guided by our willingness to believe in ourselves and know that with God, all things are possible. This kind of abundance cannot be measured, only celebrated. Candy Paull’s wonderful words of wisdom will remind you of a simple yet profound truth: The journey to claim your abundance begins within.

Candy Paull’s writing is the readable equivalent of Earl Grey tea, steeped in a pot, and served in your grandmother's china. That is: it warms you through and through.

Abundance Prayer

When I am afraid, I ask myself:
How can I give more to life?
When I am tangled in past regrets
or frightening stories of the future,
I bring myself into the present moment
And know that I am safe.
When I am tempted to complain
I choose praise and gratitude.
I take a deep breath.
I look around and see
how rich I am in the things that count.
I look within and see my unlimited potential
I realize that every moment is filled with blessings
and every day I am alive
is a gift to be grateful for.
I remember that God is my Source
and abundance is reflected
in the faces of the people I love
and in the faces of those
I have yet to learn to love.
Eternally, this abundance says:
Every family is my family.
Every success is my success.
Every bride is my beauty
and every bridegroom my Beloved.
Every child is my new beginning
and every elder is my life ripe with experience.
Every dawn is my new day.
Every sunset is my world turning.
Every season is good
and offers its bounty to me.
Every moment is mine to embrace
for it is the Eternal Now
forever expressing in, through, and for me.
I live in the Forever Here
that is alive in all.
Translucent grace shines in us,
awake and aware of the beauty we are
as we become all we were meant to be.
And so it is.

This is a very positive book.

The basic idea in the book is that everyone has something to be grateful for. If even on our worst days we start looking at what we already have, rather than what we do not have we can improve out outlook and spirit.

The book encourages the readers to believe in the best in each person they meet and provide each person some positive feedback. Small specific acts to make a positive difference, for example offer a ride, say a few nice words, say thank you.

Her positive thoughts and ideas are accompanied by paragraphs from scriptures. If you are religious you will find comfort in these frequent references. If you are not religious you might find these references to God too frequent, but I would still encourage you to plow through it, as the book has a lot of positive thoughts especially for someone who is struggling with difficulties in life.

The Heart of Abundance is about appreciating life right now. No matter what hand you were dealt, finding even the small things that are good can help pass through a dark passage. This book is about being positive about life every day, not just on the occasions when everything seems to be going your way.

I was pleased to recognize some of the things I do when things are not going well. I do find it helps to concentrate thinking about something you look forward to every day, even if it can be as small as, say, a TV episode you plan to see when the bad day at work is over. I found it helps me to get through a bad day.

This book will help you create your own reality - mindset and your attitude control how you feel.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great but it was free November 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I don't think this type of book is a good format for Kindle. It would be better appreciated in actual book form to use more as a reference. I'm only 15% into it and already it's annoying me with "Abundance is.....", then fill in the blank. Not finding it inspiring like I thought I would--just boring and tiring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, spiritual read August 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved the great words of wisdom, affirmations, and quotes in this gem of a book. I prefer to read inspirational books that are more spiritual and less religious and this book was just that. This book's ideologies of life are similar to that of Louise Hay and The Secret and I've enjoyed this book and Louise Hay's books the best. As the other reviewer said, if you are in a rut or going through a tough time, this book and its message will inspire you to not give up and reach for your dreams!

First of all, I admire writings that strive to better people's lives. However, this book was simply not useful.

The book is very unfocused: a couple short paragraphs on the subject, then a list of random quotes (many of which aren't exactly on-topic), then a short (or long) list of "Abundance is... [x,y,z]" of which many are airy, without much meaning, and could fit under any other word's definition.

And then a few more quotes. And then a paragraph, another short list, another paragraph, another list of quotes, and so on. You get the idea.

The last 20% of the book was simply lists of sources, books the author read/liked in the past, and plugs for other books.

Final note: I'm not bashing the author here - again, it's a positive attempt to reach people's hearts. But, if you are looking for a more useful/inspirational/moving book, save your time and look elsewhere. There's a lot of fluff here.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Full of So Many Wonderful Things October 31, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
What an amazing amount of Truth in one place. I started reading and just couldn't stop. I absolutely loved the quotes interspersed throughout the text. The most powerful spiritual tool at our disposal is gratitude. If one has an attitude of gratitude everything falls into place. One of my favorite affirmations is "There is no reality in lack, abundance is here and now manifest." The section on abundance rocked my socks. Thank you for sharing this wonderful book.

Blessings,

1.0 out of 5 stars The Heart of Abundance January 9, 2013

Don't waste your time. I was hoping for something inspiring, but it's just a collection of a ton of quotes from other inspiring people, and insipid meanderings from the author. The only thing this book has an abundance of...is ellipses.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kind of Cheesy with some good thoughts March 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Kind of a cheesy read, but has several quotes and thought provoking statements... As for being a "guide"... nah.
When feeling down or just kind of blah, it is a good book to browse.
