Editorial Reviews

Of course the whole Hee Haw gang is here too in these 8 episodes on 4 DVDs Roy, Buck, Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl, Junior Samples, Archie
Campbell, Gordie Tapp, Lulu Roman and more.
Time Life s special 5-DVD set also includes a BONUS disc of recently filmed interviews of cast
members including Roy Clark, Roni Stoneman, George Goober Lindsay, Lulu Roman, the Hager Twins, writer George Yanok and Charlie McCoy, the
show s musical director from 1978 on. During these interviews they reflect on the camaraderie of the
cast, fondly recalling their crazy days in Kornfield.
Plus there are loving memories of departed friends Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl and Buck Owens.
They even share little secrets about Hee Haw, such as this hum-dinger: Junior Samples wasn t acting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hee Haw Happy November 13, 2007
Verified Purchase
Hee Haw is back Yeah. I grew up watching Hee Haw before I really liked country music. I watched it for the great actors on the show and the comedy. I really learned to love country music from watching Hee Haw. The salute to Hee Haw is awesome. The have some of the best moments from the early years on Hee Haw. Hee Haw was on CBS for a few years, until CBS decided to cancel all of it's shows with "trees" in them. They canned Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, and the Beverly Hillbillies. Hee Haw went into syndication and thrived lasting over 20 years. Check out the interviews on the last disc. There are wonderful interviews with Roy Clark, Ronnie Stoneman, Lulu Roman, Hager twins, and George Lindsay. Watching these DVD's makes m want to order more in the Hee Haw series. I wish there was something like Hee Haw on TV today.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Dad January 8, 2012
By Kitty1
Verified Purchase
My dad has advanced dementia and can no longer read or follow TV programs. It's winter time and all he has to do is sit in front of the fireplace and sleep. We are always trying to find things / tasks of interest to keep him busy for at least small amounts of time during the day. One day I thought about Hee Haw and ordered this set from Amazon. I will never forget the look on his face when he saw Roy Clark open the show and a very young Dottie West start singing. It was like seeing old friends and much to my surprise he knows who everyone is on the show. If he misses the punchline in a joke he can catch the next one because it moves fast. And he DOES get most of the jokes. As the caregiver my mom is overjoyed to have something that my dad enjoys and will give her a break.

Just something to consider for others who are going through the same thing with a dad that LOVED watching Hee Haw every Saturday night for years and years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brings back memories August 29, 2008
Verified Purchase
This DVD set is a must for those who remember this series. Pictures are sharp and clear and the sound is great. Time-Life has included shows with some of the best stars. It's like stepping back in time to when TV was younger and more innocent. To see Tanya, Loretta, Merle...all in their prime...was really a treat. Keep the volumes coming!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good selection from the early years October 7, 2012
Verified Purchase
Well, like most Hee Haw fans I enjoyed this set of 8 complete shows.
I don't see any information about what shows are included, so that's why I'm writing.
I don't like to buy shows if I already have them on another set.

Disc 1:
1969 12/31 Hee Haw: episode 15 - Dottie West, Hank Williams Jr.
1970 1/28 Hee Haw: episode 19 - Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Susan Raye
Disc 2:
1969 8/17 Hee Haw: episode 9 - Jerry Lee Lewis, Conway Twitty, Susan Raye
1970 9/29 Hee Haw: episode 32 - Ray Charles, Lynn Anderson
Disc 3:
1970 12/15 Hee Haw: episode 42 - Waylon Jennings, Diana Trask, Johnny Duncan
1970 12/29 Hee Haw: episode 43 - Roy Rogers & Dale Evans
Disc 4:
1973 10/13 Hee Haw: episode 108 - Tanya Tucker (she was 14 then), Buddy Alan
1974 3/ 2 Hee Haw: episode 126 - Loretta Lynn & Conway Twitty, David Houston

For us fans, the shows on Disc 4 also have Barbi Benton and Misty Rowe.
Roy Clark came from a family of country musicians; episode 108 has the family playing the old time song "Log Cabin in the Lane"

Disc 5, as noted elsewhere, is interviews of Roy Clark, Roni Stoneman, George Yanck, master musician Charlie McCoy, Lulu Roman, George Lindsey, and the Hager brothers.

It was interesting hearing Buck Owens sing "I Wouldn't Live in New York City (if you gave me the whole dang town)". The advertisers must have loved that!

Verified Purchase
This was bought as a gift for my 86 yr old Dad and he LOVES it. Brought back a lot of memories for him. He loved watching this show, as I did. He thought he'd never see those old shows he loved back then again. What a surprise it was for him at Christmas!!

5.0 out of 5 stars ~ GREAT OLD COUNTRY MUSIC ~ December 15, 2012
If you like Country Music like me you will love The Hee Haw Collection I've got many Episodes and they are Great Fun to Watch. The Shows are Beautifully Transferred to DVD. The Colors are very Clear Bright and Colorful The Sound is very Strong and Powerful considering some of these Shows go back to 1969

The Hee Haw Show were a Summer replacement Series for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Each week co-host Buck Owens and Roy Clark and the Cast of Comedians and Musicians would Welcome the Biggest Stars in Country Music to perform their Songs and help deliver the One-Liners

The Hee Haw Collection 5 Discs 8 Episodes

DISC (1)
Episode: 15 - 1969 Dottie West, Hank Williams Jr.
Episode: 19 - 1970 Merle Haggard Loretta Lynn
DISC (2)

Hee Haw Ranked in the Top 20 Nationwide, Every Episode is about 50 Minutes Long, I never get tired of watching Hee Haw and the Old Style of Country Music with the Original Instruments nothing like today, most Artists don't even use the Steel Guitar any more which by the way it goes back to 1922 and earlier. The Hee Haw Collection Episodes are part of American Musical History and I Love to be able to Watch them and Collect them.. Thank You D.D.
