Secrets, even those concealed by once trusted macro organizations like the government, when revealed are primarily personal, micro.

It's the same UFO stories repeated ad nauseam since the 1940s.

I'm no stranger to the field of UFOs. I started reading about them in the 60's and haven't stopped. I was surprised that this documentary brought a few new things to the table for me.

Here's the scoop. This documentary sets the viewer up to deal with the government secrecy side of UFOs but really deals more in abductions.

Some gave this outing 1 star and I don't see it. The talking heads used are tops in the field. David Jacobs, Whitley Strieber, Stanton Friedman, Budd Hopkins et al, so when these guys talk there's little reason to disbelieve what they say in regard to their work. One reviewer complained they didn't offer up proof. Well....short of having a UFO land on your lawn, what constitutes proof? The abductees that were interviewed didn't say anything unheard of in the field so why doubt them? What was new to me was the amount and variety of stuff they pulled out of people's bodies. I'd seen some photos of recovered "implants" before. Just not so many. And they interspersed the objects with abductee testimony of stuff being shoved inside them.

On the downside is the outline. They needed much more time on the coverup aspect of the field. If this is what you're advertising, this is what you should deliver, which they did not. Plus, at times I felt they were just slinging stuff at me with both hands. They needed to tighten things up. I also could have done without the mystical angle. We simply do not have the information our government has so this type of speculation (any type really) is useless.

That being said, this does hold some valuable information, particularly for someone new to the field. Is it the best UFO documentary out there? Hardly. But it's far from the worst.

This was one of the first alien documentaries I watched that included interviews with the abductees. The quality was great when compared to the usual lack luster alien documentaries. I would easily recommend this to any one. With all that being said..... OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE, THEY ARE AMONG US!!!

"The Hidden Hand: Alien Contact and the Government Cover-Up" hits the mark with it's uncovering of several never-before-known facts from people in-the-know who have never been interviewed before. Remarkable evidence surfaces which just proves our government (and governments of the world) have been covering up the truth behind UFO's and the alien presence and the human-alien hybridization agenda. Fascinating coverage of a very fascinating subject. Well done !

From the introduction: "The Hidden Hand explores a new paradigm of conscioussness taking root within humanity."

I really enjoyed this documentary. While some of the other reviewers have a legitimate gripe in that it purports to focus exclusively on the government cover-up aspect of the UFO phenomenon, it nevertheless offers a very balanced and thorough overview. Even so, the suppression aspect is given ample screen time, I think. Many of the featured commentators are actually ex-government/military personnel whose experiences while employed within various covert agencies has spurred their deeper interest in the phonomenen outside of those cloistered institutions.

The information is presented in a pleasing format. Thankfully, the producers elected to intercut the commentaries and other graphic materials with artitistic renderings relating to the subjects being discussed. For me, this lent a much more interesting and imaginative tone to the featured material. Much more so than a bunch of cheap and embarrassing dramatizations, or poorly executed reenactments. In addition, the entire feature is peppered with video footage of UFO sightings, labled as to location and date.

The first ten to fifteen minutes of the video consists of an introduction/overview. The remainder is divided into more-or-less discreet sections featuring various aspects of the subject:

1) First Encounters
2) The Role of the Military
3) The Phenomenon of Abduction
4) Types of Aliens
5) Alien Implants
6) The Trauma of Abductees
7) Positive Contact Experiences
8) New York Meeting of S.P.A.C.E.

While some really big names, credible researchers, and noteworthy experiencers/abductees are featured within this documentary, the film really falls flat. Unless you are new to this subject matter. Then this film will not inform you, but rather encourage you to research. And excite your curiosity about aspects of the alien/UFO phenomenon.

The Hidden Hand glosses over a few important facets of the alien enigma. You will meet both the credible and incredible, the trustworthy and the questionable. But you will never be taken into depth enough to truly say you understand any of these facets.

Let me tell you, this documentary is only an appetizer. A tasty treat that makes you go back for more, but there is no more. You'll have to look elsewhere to get your hunger for alien info. satiated.

So, what you should really do after renting (or avoiding) this documentary is . . .

WATCH: Ancient Aliens, Hangar 18, and America's Book of Secrets. These shows are well-done, sometimes a bit nutso, but always interesting and insightful.

Then READ: Alien Agenda by Jim Marrs, The Threat by David Jacobs, UFO's for the 21st Century Mind by Richard Dolan, Sight Unseen by Budd Hopkins, Abduction by John Mack, Disclosure by Dr. Greer, The Day After Roswell by Phillip Corso, and by then you can follow your inclinations toward other great authors like Nick Redfern, David Icke, John Keel, and others who cover some of the more unbelievable aspects of the alien/UFO phenomenon.

Enjoy. :)
