From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Cali MacKay...

When Dr. Catriona Ross discovers clues to a long lost highland treasure, her only hope of finding the jewels is to obtain the help of Scotland's most eligible bachelor and playboy, Iain MacCraigh.

Iain can't believe his luck when he finds out the jewels are hidden away somewhere on his land-- and it doesn't hurt that the historian looking for them has curves to go with her smarts. With his brother betting the family fortune, this is the life line he desperately needs.

The odds are against them, and with word getting out about the jewels, they're not the only ones on the hunt. Time's running out, but can they learn to trust each other, or will they lose the jewels and true love in the process?

* This is Book One in the The Highland Heart Series and was previously titled The Hunt. It is a complete novel that can stand alone and does not end on any cliffhangers. *

3.0 out of 5 stars Light predictable read November 27, 2012
By Nikknox
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Pleasant light read with a very predictable plot. Characters were interesting and likable. English academia lass, Cat with Scottish heritage comes to Scotland to find lost jewels said to have historical significance in the Scottish rebellion. She has tracked the jewels to land owned by Highland Laird Iain (gorgeous, rich and with a womanizer reputation) and meets with him to gain permission to search. Sparks fly, love and lust is in the air and of course their are obstacles in the way to securing the treasure. Easy read that you can put down and pick up as time allows. Nothing that would evaporate a day away. All in all - I got what I paid for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read ! December 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Great read filled with genuine romance, I enjoyed seeing the characters grow into love then just instantly being in love. The mystery and flow of the story is great and I cant wait to read the next book of the Highland Series. However, please note you dont have to buy book 2 to find out the ending of The Highlander's Hope so you arent tricked into having to buy another to get your happily ever after.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bit of a Stubborn Lass meets a Hot Highlander December 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the first book I've READ BY Cali MacKay..but won't be my last. The story is refreshing ..and has a a feeling of it could be real..but enough fiction to be able to let you place your self in Cat's shoes...they fought against their feelings just enough..but the sizzle was there enough that you wanted them to quit fighting it and get to happy ever after..hard to put down..looking forward to reading the next book of hers in this series.. Read this one and you wont be disappointed!! The Highlander's Hope - A Contemporary Highland Romance

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing-- one star because I couldn't give it less September 5, 2013

I hate story lines where the heroine blows hot and cold, placid and charming one minute, spitting mad the next, madly in love with her hero then distrusting and again spitting mad in the next paragraph. This sort of woman is always stupidly determined to be stronger than any man.
Stupid book.

2.0 out of 5 stars good plot but the scottish vocabulary distracting April 23, 2013
By Ashley
Format:Kindle Edition
the book in general was cute, but the plot was to find a jewel. when they did, the entire scene took two paragraphs! all of the hype fot two short paragraphs was a letdown.my largest complaint was the poor use of the scottish verbage.there were only five words jused repetively.ye, yer , and a few others made me want stop reading it. as it was, i skipped a few chapters and got the ending i wanted. next time droo the gaelic and stick with what you know

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh February 5, 2013
By Jus
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Run of the mill romance with a weak plot as backdrop. It gets 2 stars vs 3 because of the annoying repeating conversations and the ultra annoying "ye". I mean I get they are from Scotland, but usually ye is reserved for old locals with heavy and rough brogues, not the young handsome hero of the piece.

1.0 out of 5 stars I thought it would never end December 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Meh. This book went on and on and on (and on and on). Seriously, how many times can an author say the same thing and not have it get on a reader's nerves? At about the 70% mark I truly thought it was never going to end. And then it did -- immediately -- when I deleted the book from my Kindle.
