Product Description

Heidi and Lauren maintain their distance, while Whitney contemplates leaving Teen Vogue in this season of the MTV series. Bonuses: deleted scenes, interviews, commentary, featurettes.

Amazon.com

The third season of The Hills is alive with the sound of arguing, crying, and making up (sort of) by the telegenic quartet known as Lauren, Heidi, Whitney and Audrina. Glitzy, fabulous and completely unrealistic, this top-rated MTV reality series thrives on the conceit that pretty girls are jealous of each other when one of them has a boyfriend. But if that boyfriend is Spencer (Heidi's big-toothed Svengali-in-training), it's not necessarily jealousy the girls are feeling so much as revulsion. With her enhanced bosom on display, Heidi makes a weak attempt at independence this season, calling Spencer out for trying to control her. But watching the two--derisively known as Speidi--talk wanly, the vignettes come off as rehearsed as they've alluded to in interviews. Never mind that she flies off to Las Vegas to get some perspective. Are we really to believe that without receiving a call from her, Spencer figures out all by himself where she's staying in time to arrive for a heartfelt confrontation where both appear to have on their share of stage makeup? Reality isn't the drawing card of The Hills. It's watching a group of young, gorgeous twentysomethings living high on the hog in glamorous careers that appear to be incredibly lucrative. In reality, the core group work in fields where the paycheck could barely afford them to rent a small apartment together. Audrina is an intern at a record label, Lauren is an intern at a magazine, and Heidi is employed by a PR firm that apparently doesn't mind that she really doesn't seem to do all that much. And yet we're led to believe that these gals can live a Paris Hilton lifestyle, without Hilton's trust fund. But part of the guilty pleasure in watching The Hills is that mixed in with all the make-believe lifestyle is a lot of true confessions and drama. As pretty as she is, Lauren seems to have issues when her friends get boyfriends. Granted, she is usually right on the money about their lack of character. But she doesn't know when to stop interfering in her friends' lives and lectures and whines to the point where no one wants to hear about it anymore--not even her loyal viewers. The liberal use of "I love you" that is thrown around to friends they've just made also is telling. When the girls figure out that the phrase should be used sparingly and to people who've actually earned their love and trust, they may stand a shot at finding men who will truly return their affection. And those guys probably won't want their relationship filmed on subsequent seasons of the show. --Jae-Ha Kim

Best season yet, which is why I was so disappointed when I got it to find that my Tivo'd episodes were better!

I don't know why I can't stop watching The Hills, but it's strangely addictive. I feel like I just have to know what's going on with them all and the 'drama' and typical fights between friends makes my life seem normal.
I love how this is the biggest season so far. There's at least double the episodes in this season than in season 1 (I know reality shows did really well when the writers strike was on). In the first episode, we see that there is still tension and drama between Lauren and Heidi. Now they are complete enemies. Audrina becomes Laurens roommate. Later down the track we see Heidi and Spencer get closer to their wedding, boyfriends come and go, the introduction of Spencers sister Stephanie, Lauren and Whitney going to Paris, lots of nightclubbing, new roommates and on and on.
While The Hills may not be everyones cup of tea, it's better than any soap on TV. It kind of hypnotises you and hooks you in. I really enjoy watching it and recommend it to all reality show freaks and people who love trashy yet fun shows. It's great.

The third season of the mtv reality drama the hills is here and it is the best one yet!!!! The shows third season is the most dramatic, fun, and oh so full of drama and gossip. Mtv's The Hills is the most addicting show out there right now in a rich club land world of 2o something girls whose every move is followed by the mtv crew. Its a dazzling and gorseously shot LA world in which nothing ever really happens, but yet you cannot look away. This season finds Lauren having to prover herself to her Teen Vogue boss and preparing for other work opprotunities. Her friend Whitney deals with her first real job and the aftermath of wanting something more than what she has. Audrina relationship with the ever grungy and sleazy Justin Bobby slowly unravels, while her deep bond with Lauren is sorely tested when a new friend moves in. The most talked about feud in recent history is also here between former best friends Lauren and Heidi. How can you not love the Hills? This season is 28!!! episodes long ( and upgrade from season 1's 10 episode arch), and the juiceness is just beginning.

The hills is the ultimate guilty pleasure show. No matter how hard you try, you won't be able to resist getting sucked into the dramatic lives of Lauren Conrad and her friends as the cameras follow their practically every move in LA.

During a very drama filled season 2, where Lauren is not only betrayed by her friend Jen Bunny, she is also having major problems with her other best friend/roommate Heidi, mostly having to do with Heidi's boyfriend Spencer Pratt, who is also Laurens newfound enemy. At the end of the season, Heidi moves out with Spencer, and Audrina takes Heidis place as Laurens new roommate.

Now, during the even more drama filled season 3, we see Lauren and Heidi have a major blow-out over Lauren accusing Heidi and Spencer of spreading sex tape rumors about her, we see what life is like for Heidi as she loses most of her girlfriends due to her living with Spencer, we see Lauren and Audrina grow closer since they are roommates, and we see Audrinas rocky relationship with her moody boyfriend Justin Bobby. We also see the return of Laurens boyfriend, Jason Wahler, who has a pretty big surprise in store for Lauren.

All in all, this is a great season, probably the best one so far!

Poor job done on such a large season. Best season yet, which is why I was so disappointed when I got it to find that my Tivo'd episodes were better! The DVD really did not have too many extras, that was a bummer. Seemed to be put together in a hurry. Then some wasted time on a Pepsi show that had nothing to do with the Hills. Biggest bummer was all of the music from original episodes swapped out for some crappy no name songs.

Got this for studying Enlish. Yes, I'm a far-way person from U.S.
Thought every DVD has subtitles, at least English subtitle, in it..
But this one is one of few DVDs that don't carry what I want!

There is nothing much different than you watch on Mtv.com.
Sorry for that.

I enjoy watching The Hills. It's mindless and sometimes can be annoying, especially when Spencer is around, but all in all I do enjoy watching it.
You have to take it for what it is - young (largely immature) people over-reacting to situations contrived by the producers. There is nothing of much substance here, Heidi and Spencer's relationship is questionable at best, Audrina is an aspiring actress (but nothing is said of this on the tv show in case we think she is actually acting instead of just living her life). However, Lauren and Whitney are incredibly likeable, Heidi is hilarious as the narcissistic airhead and Spencer is the complete villain. In my opinion this makes for good tv. I work all day and when I come home I like to relax and be entertained, and this does the job.

In this season Heidi and Spencer are living together. Heidi's friendship with Lauren falls apart, Audrina has love issues of her own, and Whitney moves on with her career.
Also I think this is the season where Heidi and Spencer have an argument that results in Heidi going to Colorado to see her family. After a while Spencer decides to follow her to sort out their differences. When he gets there, Heidi has a brand new face! Unfortunately for Heidi all this plastic surgery seems to be in vain as Spencer shows no signs of noticing the changes. Their lines might not be scripted but there is enough evidence here to show that this 'reality' tv show is not as real as it claims to be. That shouldn't come as a shock to anybody though.

Bear in mind this is not for everyone. If you don't like 'reality' tv, then stay clear. Alot of the situations are so clearly contrived that it is just unbelievable. If you can take it for what it is - mindless trash tv - then sit back and enjoy. If you're looking for intellectual stimulation, steer clear.

will this include all 28/29 episodes???
Based on the running time of the discs and the mention on the MTV website for the DVD it looks like it's the WHOLE supersized season. So no worries about buying it and then missing the last eight or so episodes - they'll ALL be together.
