Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Choosing the top ten of anything is only one person's opinion and the lists that you're about to read are my opinions, based on years of careful listening, in-depth research, and heated debates with other fans, writers, and industry employees whom I respect. I'm sure that they will have some interesting things to say when they read my choices.

I'm sure you will as well.

From the Inside Flap

"Rap is something you do. Hip-hop is something you live."

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Insightful July 24, 2012
Format:Paperback
I'm not a huge rap fan but I really enjoyed this book! It shed a lot of light into the history of the music and I learned many new things. Each chapter is a top ten list of a different topic so the book avoids being boring or repetitive. A must read for all music fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read For Any True Hip Hop Fan July 31, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Full disclosure.....I hate reading. Weird for a book reviewer right? Well I do. I bought this book because I'm a huge hip hop fan and I needed something to keep my entertained on the beach. I enjoyed every page. The writer made sure to break things into short chapters based on different categories and it was really fun to read. You can feel the writer's passion coming through on every page and it makes you want to keep reading. Just be careful....I spent like $50 on iTunes downloading all the great stuff I had forgotten about/hadn't heard in a while. Buy this book. You won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read for hip hop fans July 30, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great read from someone who's loved hip hop for 20 years. And if u don't love it u should read it anyway! Great writing and easy to read; I couldn't put it down. It can also teach you a thing or two if you're not educated on the culture. :)
