One word: Disappointing. I've been a Faith fan since 1994 and I noticed that so many hit singles were missing from the compliation. "The Hits" possesses many flaws. First, the track listing on the back of the cd, like other reviewers have mentioned, is inaccurate. The songs run in a different order than it does on the track list. Second, the lack of new material. While "Lost" and "Red Umbrella" are impressive, songs like "Stronger" and "I Need You" have no place on here; they are not new nor are they hits. Third, this is only half of her hits. It's missing classics like "Lets Go To Vegas", "I Can't Do That Anymore", "You Can't Lose Me", "Take Me As I Am" and "If My Heart Had Wings". And finally, the cheap packaging. But that's the least of this cd's problems. I am just really disappointed with the lack of marketing and the lack of effort put into this cd. I will always be a Faith fan and I hope her next effort will be better. Thank goodness a real Greatest Hits comes out next week...Sara Evans. Now that is a true hit collection. I would recommend that one instead of this one.

Love Faith, but whoever was in charge of this project at the record company deserves to be fired. Many of the "the hits" are actually missing, and I agree with other reviewers asking why is "I Need You" included on this album and not the other Faith/Tim duets that were hits. The live version of "Stonger" is nice, but what about "There Will Come A Day", which is a Faith fan-standard. Faith rocks that track live and it brings the house down. "Lost" is a great song and I was so thinking Faith would have another hit on the scale of "Breathe", but it seems like it came and went with little to no bother, and now we have "Red Umbrella" as a single already and the song is horrible. The fact that the track list on the back of the CD package does not match how the tracks appear on the CD is ridiculous. My CD came with a tiny sticker saying the track listing doesn't match. But why? Seems like a huge oversight. That said, the track list on the CD packaging would have been much better than how it actually turned out. The order of the tracks on the CD is odd for a Greatest Hits, starting with "Red Umbrella" and going straight to a live track with "Stronger" and then "I Need You", bypassing the Faith standards. The fact that the track list is all messed up and won't even import into iTunes correctly is yet another indicator that whoever was in charge of this project did it half heartedly. Was hoping with all the fan outgrage at the original, dismal track listing for this CD that when the record company decided to rethink things they'd get it right. Missing hits, no special live songs or radio/single versions, screwed up track listing, no real fan favorites. They didn't get it right. Again, love my Faith, and glad if I bought this it supports her, she is a gem, but this is so so so disappointing and I blame the suits.

Yes, this is a "Hits" record that is remarkable short on hits. Only 3 singles off her first 2 albums? And wasn't this supposed to be 'different?' Only 2 new previously unreleased songs! ("I Need You" is nice but I already owned it thanks to Tim's album so it doesn't count).

I have to even wonder who was in charge of this, because it doesn't feel like Faith, the perfectionist, really had much of a say in this. I've put together Faith Hill Greatest Hits albums better than this on my own computer.

And there is a general lack of liner notes, too. All we get is the production credits, no message from Faith or other notable, there's not even a single Thank You note. I realize that artists are increasingly referring you to their websites for this, but I really hate that practice and think it cheapens the output. This is true for this album, too.

Having written all that, I still bought this album because I believe in supporting my artists. It gets 2 stars for the reason I bought it: 2 new songs.

EDIT: I feel the need to also point out that her latest albums also make a poor showing on this disc. In fact, out of 6 albums only the Faith disc (her third) has more than one or two songs taken from it. And one of my greatest disappointments with this album is that her famous and successful duets with her husband, such as "Just to hear you say that you love me," "Let's Make Love," and the recent "Like we never loved at all" are not included. I could have overlooked these absences if she had included more new songs.

I also now wonder if this GH was put out to buy some extra time for Faith to put together her next album. The longest she has waited between albums has been 3 years, which would be late next summer from Fireflies. Recent interviews have her saying she does not have a due date for the next one and I now wonder if she agreed to put out this half-baked Hits in exchange for a few extra years to work on the next album. If so, the next one will have to be beyond phenomenal to make up for the extra time and the disappointment of this Hits.

There used to be a time when a "Greatest Hits" cd really meant something to an artist. It was their opportunity to celebrate the achievements of their career, while offering a collection cd as a gift to their most devoted fans.

In the past, a Greatest Hits collection package will be an exceptional package...the new songs will be different, the artist will include new/old photos of themselves and chart position information about their songs/albums over the years, and the artist will do one or two things:

A.) Write about their experiences recording the various hit songs and allow the songwriter and/or producer to have their input in the creative process (for example, Martina McBride) or

B.) Have a music expert (like a music critic) who champions their work by offering clever commentary about the artist and their work (for example, Madonna).

Sadly, Faith offers none of this and it really shouldn't surprise anyone. Since 1997, Faith has taken her cue from Shania Twain who also released her Hits cd in 2004 in the most boring fashion imagineable. Neither female artist offered any real insight to their work or allowed someone to write a commentary on their careers; both women neglected to include ALL their hits; both women include "so-so" new songs as a catch; and both women packaging is so boring I felt offended about spending my money.

The problem with Faith is, she waited too late to release this Hits cd. This cd should have been release AFTER her "Breathe" album and include both her pop and country hits and contain no songs from "Cry" or "Fireflies" because she was doing different things and "Breathe" would have given her an opportunity to close one chapter while beginning a new phase in her career. Plus, if she had contained songs from "Cry" and "Fireflies" there would have been too many songs being on the collection. My example of Faith's Hits would be:

CD 1 (Country)
Red Umbrella
I Need You
Lost
Take Me As I Am
Wild One
Piece of My Heart
But I Will
Someone Else's Dream
Let's Go to Vegas
It Matter To Me
You Can't Lose Me (single version)
I Can't Do That Anymore

CD 2 (Pop)
This Kiss
It's Your Love
Let Me Let Go
Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me
The Secret of Life
Breathe
The Way You Love Me
Let's Make Love
If My Heart Had Wings
Piece of My Heart (Rock Remix)
There You'll Be
Let Me Let Go (Movie Version)
Let Me Let Go (Pop Version)

To be honest, she already released a GH cd to the International markets (right after Breathe). However, at that time she was trying to become a "pop" artist because she really didn't include any of her country hits and if she did, it did not include any country influences. That is why I don't consider that album a Hits collection...its more like an album used to help give her more exposure to fans overseas.

In my opinion, Faith is suffering from poor advice. Why did she feel it was necessary to NOT include "Let's Go To Vegas"? That song/video is one of her most popular songs. "I Can't Do That Anymore" is one of her best ballads EVER and "It's Your Love" is considered one of the best country duets of all times. This Hits cd was LONG overdue and instead of releasing this Hits collection, I think she should be releasing her long delayed Christmas album. I feel VERY disappointed in this cd and its sad that Faith and her label threw this weak hits collection together for devoted fans to buy. I think we deserve more than this.

ok, ok.. let me start off by saying i have been a huge faith fan since the very beginning. But 13 years into your career and finally putting out a greatest hits album - as a fan i was expecting SO MUCH more to this. there are in fact 15 songs here but some of the BEST singles missing here:
1.someone else's dream
2.there will come a day
3.just to hear you say that you love me
4.but i will
5.let's go to vegas
6.if my heart had wings
7.stealing kisses
8.love ain't like that
9.when the lights go down
10.i can't do that anymore
11.sunshine and summertime
12.you can't lose me
and
13.the lucky one
you would think that a few of these 13 singles could have been added not to mention 2 other ones she sang (that were stand out songs) -
1.the star spangled banner (her performance was spectacular)
2."where are you christmas" the song she sang for The Grinch soundtrack.

this was a very sad release of a greatest hits album. i find there was really no need for a LIVE version of "Stronger" or "I Need You" which was on McGraw's album.

i'm pretty sad i bought the album because MANY of my favorite Faith songs were not included on it.
sorry faith, but i was extremely dissapointed with the whole set.

Faith is one of the most honest, beautiful artists in country music today. Her career has a span of 15 years, and she is still going strong. If you are a new Faith fan, this album is a good place to start, as it showcases all her style changes throughout the years. It also includes a live version of "Stronger" which is where Faith really shines. If you want to hear something new, "Lost" and "Red Umbrella" are both catchy tunes that have believable lyrics. If you have been a Faith fan for many years, here is a great album for you to pop in, and be reminded of why you became a fan in the first place! Keep it coming, Faith!

First of all, to all US Readers, Faith Hill already has a much superior Greatest Hits CD that she released to the rest of the world (can't say why though). That album was called "There You'll Be : The Best of Faith Hill" and is actually available on Amazon right now at almost the same price at this CD. I would suggest - do not even waste your time on this mediocre collection - do go out and get that one immediately.

This CD has nothing going for it. Lets see - only her pop hits, very few songs, flimsy packaging, no new material, and only half the CD's space has been used. Who would buy this?

If you're interested in both quality and value for money, go for "There You'll Be" instead. It has all her greatest country AND pop hits, so its a fair collection indeed.

I'm really excited that Faith finally has a Greatest Hits CD now after so many years in the music business! While this is a good CD, I certainly expected more.

First I initially thought there would be 4 new songs but really there are only two: "Red Umbrella" and "Lost". The live version of "Stonger" is new but the song itself is not. "I Need You" is on Tim's "Let It Go" CD so it isn't new either.

Secondly so many great hits are missing! "Take Me As I Am", "I Can't Do This Any More", "Just To You Say That You Love Me", "Like We Never Loved At All", and anyone know who stole "Where Are You Christmas"?

I'm giving this CD 4 stars because I appreciate Faith's effort to put out this GH, but I thought she certainly could've done a better job.

WOW!!! I am shocked and disappointed that one of our greatest singer's has released the most crappiest greatest hits album I have ever seen. I love Faith Hill and all but COME ON!!!I wrote another review on the special edition CD/DVD combo and the DVD is missing sooo many videos. The tracklisting should have been like this...

6-SOMEONE ELSE'S DREAM
7-IT MATTERS TO ME
8-YOU CAN'T LOSE ME (SINGLE VERSION)
9-I CAN'T DO THAT ANYMORE
10-IT'S YOUR LOVE (WITH TIM MCGRAW)
11-THIS KISS
12-THE SECRET OF LIFE
13-LOVE AIN'T LIKE THAT
14-LET ME LET GO
15-JUST TO HEAR YOU SAY THAT YOU LOVE ME (WITH TIM MCGRAW)
16-BREATHE
17-THE WAY YOU LOVE ME

DISC 2
18-LET'S MAKE LOVE (WITH TIM MCGRAW)
19-IF MY HEART HAD WINGS
20-THERE YOU'LL BE
21-WHERE ARE YOU CHRISTMAS
22-CRY
23-WHEN THE LIGHTS GO DOWN
24-YOU'RE STILL HERE (SINGLE VERSION)
25-STRONGER (LIVE VERSION)
26-MISSISSIPPI GIRL
27-LIKE WE NEVER LOVED AT ALL (WITH TIM MCGRAW)

29-SUNSHINE AND SUMMERTIME
30-STEALING KISSES
31-I NEED YOU (WITH TIM MCGRAW)
32-LOST

All of these hits should have been on 2 disc's and instead put on 1 disc and only 15 hits were on it. I DON'T GET IT!!
