Book Description

“If you are looking for a resource that will act as your secret sauce to make your dishes great then this is it!” - Sarah Lincoln

“It was a joy to read and the recipes are all ones that I can easily see myself making” - Mateo

“I can finally prepare a whole range of authentic Italian meals and serve it to my family in style” - Amanda Wade

In a lot of cookbooks, sauces are some kind of an afterthought: This Dish with That Sauce. This book takes a non-traditional look at sauces and turns the meal upside-down - storable sauces, made fresh or in advance, take the center stage here. Whether it's meat, vegetarian, or vegan, whether it's simple or grand, everything that you make is going to be better!

That's where sauce comes in! What do you put on something that is bland, unpalatable, or just boring? Sauce gives flavor, and excitement, and punch. It makes good dishes better, and great dishes greater. Better still, sauces can be added to anything that you feel like cooking, from simple grilled veggies to fancy full-course dinners.

It's a great way to cook something new every day. Or, cook the same dish and have the leftovers with different sauces, giving you totally different meals with less work and keeping you from getting hungry or bored.

The idea behind this book is to have maximum impact in your kitchen with sauces that require a minimum of training and a small list of ingredients. The point isn't to break the bank with exotic ingredients. It's to start using your kitchen, make better food than you can get at a drive-in window, and most of all, get you cooking!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gourmet Delight That's Out Of This World! August 12, 2012
By StevieV
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Spice up your life by spicing up the food you eat with Daniel Chamberlin's Homemade Italian Sauces that creates a feast for your taste buds with recipes such as Classic Tomato Sauce and Bolognaise Ragu Sauce, two of my favorites. There are twenty mouth-watering homemade recipes that are fully detailed and easy to prepare. What I also appreciate is the brief history on tomatoes, olive oil and wine when it comes to applying these quality ingredients in your recipe that can make or break the way it turns out.

In addition to tomato sauces there are also cream sauces, olive oil sauces and wine based sauces giving you a great selection to choose from. There's also a section on storage and reheating of sauces. My only problem is whether to have the Roasted Artichokes with Penne Pasta or Seared Salmon with Mushrooms for dinner tonight? Nonetheless this book is a labor of love from a connoisseur who enjoys cooking and has prepared easy to fix recipes for anyone who relishes eating tasty delights and creating scrumptious meals for their family and friends.

I have tried many of these exquisite sauces and recipes. Daniel's passion for cooking has inspired me to stop buying prepackaged meals at the grocery store and begin cooking at home. His recipes are easy to make, and as my wife says, they are "absolutely delicious". Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb guide to Italian Cooking August 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My 4 year old daughter loves good food. She likes Italian food in particular.

We have gluten intolerance in our family and none of the Italian restaurants in our area serve gluten free meals. Store bought sauces are usually a no-no. So I end up preparing GF pasta at home. To make the sauce I chuck in whatever ingredients I have that I reckon go in to an Italian Sauce. So for me this book was a fabulous find.

This book is a handy guide to the many types of Italian sauces and includes tips and tricks to perfect preparation. It also includes recipes that go best with the sauces. So I can finally prepare a whole range of authentic Italian meals and serve it to my family in style.

Highly recommended!
