I borrowed the Kindle version of this book from my state's digital library and I enjoyed it so much that I intend to get the paper version to share with my granddaughter. This book is cute, lighthearted, sweet, funny and absolutely charming! Pictures and text are fantastic on their own but also work together perfectly.

The brief narrative tells of the Neatolini family and their youngest member Angelina. Angelina is sweet and cute but she doesn't live up to the neatness standards of a family that vacuums the lawn. More than anything Angelina wants a pet, but her parents protest that pets are too messy. One night Angelina makes a wish that is heard by the ladybug equivalent of a fairy godmother. But although she's perfectly willing to grant Angelina's wishes, the lady bug is a bit hard of hearing. She conjures up a number of amazing things, but none of them is what Angelina wished for - or are they?

The House at the End of Lady Bug Lane is completely delightful! If you are not familiar with author Elise Primavera, this is a great place to start. Also try Auntie Claus and its sequels and for older children I recommend The Secret Order of the Gumm Street Girls. I am not familiar with illustrator Valeria Docampo but her pictures are adorable. I'll definitely look for her books in the future.
