5.0 out of 5 stars The Hungry Shark May 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this book for my 5 year old daughter, and ended up laughing out loud as I read it to her. The story is cute, funny and upbeat. I will certainly purchase it for my 7year old- sea creature obsessed nephew as well. Entertaining story and the illustrations are great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Colorful and fun May 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An adorable story with beautiful, colorful illustrations. My 4 year old daughter loved the story and thought is was really neat to see the different ways the littler fishes defended themselves. She is also very excited to be "like Amelia" and try the recipe for seaweed pasta at the end of the book!

What a cute, and beautifully illustrated story! It was the perfect choice for my shark-loving preschooler :) We read it over and over and are excited to try out the bonus recipe at the end of the story. I highly recommend this ebook!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow Hungry Shark! May 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I just finished the Hungry Shark by Tamia Sheldon, and wow- it made me hungry for a big green meal! Her illustrations are amazing, detailed enough to be instructional (love the blow fish), but simple enough to be understood by young kids. Each page is a lovely treat, showing ocean plants and creatures accurately yet magically. The recipe at the end provides a simple and exciting way that parents can work with kids to make a healthy meal.

5.0 out of 5 stars 7 year old read it and loved it July 24, 2013

Nice art. Good quick story. Not realistic (SPOILER - shark winds up eating seaweed), but I guess that's to be expected for a kids book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boys love it! June 25, 2013
By Heather
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I babysit for 3 year old twin boys and they ask for this book every time! They absolutely love it. I'm a very interactive reader, doing hand motions for the shark jaws, even "crying" when the shark cries, and they think it is the funniest thing ever. I was worried at first that they may find this book scary, but with a wonderful ending it leaves them smiling and asking for more! A great read for the little ones!

5.0 out of 5 stars What's for dinner? May 8, 2012

Hungry Shark can't get a decent meal in Tamia Sheldon's beautifully illustrated book about Amelia, the shark. A great tail...er...tale for children and adults alike, filled with creatures from the sea and a cute story about how everyone, even a hungry shark, needs to eat well.

2.0 out of 5 stars a vegetarian shark?
Amelia the shark is looking for lunch. All the creatures evade her with their survival skills/characteristics. So she eats seaweed for lunch. Seriously? a vegetarian shark? Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Dumb
This book is lame. It's very short, and the book ends with a hungry shark delightedly eating seaweed, and then a questionable recipe for seaweed pasta. Seriously? Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Short
Cute book but was super short. Probably wouldn't have paid the 3 dollars had I known how short it was.

3.0 out of 5 stars hungry vegan shark?
Delightful illustrations and cute concept about the aquatic eating machine. Nice short 'read to' story for children or others young at heart.

I bought this app on my iPad for my grandsons, it is bloody, and easy and they seem to enjoy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars just ok...
I think it's really silly to pretend a shark is vegetarian...even if it's a kids book. My 4 & 6 year old boys had no interest in it.

It's a cute book and works well on the Kindle Fire, but a vegetarian shark? My five-year-old granddaughter doesn't seem to care for it much. Read more

Nice easy book about a shark- love that her name is Amilea. Hate that reading a book on kindle is making me rate it- I just want to read the book to my 3 year old...
