Book Description

After one of the most harrowing weeks of Henry Parker's life, night has finally come. Settled in with Amanda Davies, he sleeps before preparing to chase a story alongside his mentor, Jack O'Donnell. Meanwhile Jack sits on the other side of town, fresh out of rehab, hoping to salvage a once-great career derailed by public humiliation. This is Jack's last chance to leave his mark. Elsewhere in the city, two killers are on the move. They are brutal, calculating, and after tonight their decade's long plan will come to fruition. But before the morning comes they have a few stops to make...

This short novella is the thrilling lead-in to THE DARKNESS, available now!

This is no different from the free sample you can get with any book on the kindle. LCW  |  18 reviewers made a similar statement
It seemed too forced, too artificial, to immature. Deborah Verlen  |  12 reviewers made a similar statement

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT WHAT I EXPECTED December 5, 2009
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This should have been stated as a sample. It is NOT the entire book. Someone should make that clear!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dissappointed November 2, 2009
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was well written, and caught my interest. My complaint is that I was led to believe that this was supposed to be a novella. Instead it read like the first chapter in a book. Isn't a novella supposed to be a conmplete story in it's own right?

I really don't mind a preview, especially if it is free.

However, 1 star for deception, if your gonna give me a sample or a preview, tell me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a free book. January 15, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the first "book" I attempted to read on my new Kindle. I was very anxious to see how I would like reading on the Kindle and was very happy to find out about the free books available. I made the mistake of thinking The Hunters was a book when it is, as many others have stated, nothing but a sample consisting of the first chapters of a different "book." I'd like to read the rest but am now afraid I'd get only the next couple chapters in the story before I'd need yet a third "book."

1.0 out of 5 stars If this is a "lead-in to "Darkness" why not call it that? December 14, 2009
By Auric

1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading November 18, 2009
By LCW
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
One of the main reasons I shop Amazon is to avoid items like this. Yea, it's free but you're only going to get 6 chapters and certainly not a whole story. This is no different from the free sample you can get with any book on the kindle. Don't waste your time with this one.

Did any of you read The Hunters?
The only thing that the Product Description on the Amazon page said that even remotely implied that this was not a full novel was: "The thrilling lead-in to THE DARKNESS". That doesn't communicate to me that this is not a full novel. The Hobbit was a thrilling lead-in to The Lord of... Read more
