I am from the older generation (66) and bought this CD as a bit of a gamble as I had never come across Dallas Green before. After having a brief listen on Amazon and reading some reviews I decided to take the plunge. With the first playing I was pleasantly surprised and the more I played this CD the more it appealed to me. Unusal but great voice, good lyrics that you can hear and understand, and tunes that stay in your head. In my view definitely City and Colour's best CD (subsequently listened to earlier CDs) with a good mix of acoustic and electric. Hopefully this review will not turn off the younger generation!! Highly recommend this CD and looking forward to the forthcoming City and Colour's concert in Canberra, Australia even if I might be the oldest person in the audience. Neil R

Let me just go on record by saying I loved all of his previous work, "Sometimes" was amazing, "Bring Me Your Love" was even better, and "Little Hell" was pretty good (I feel like Dallas hadn't found his sound yet, with a set-band). But this album is just nothing short of perfection, the instrumentals are amazing, the vocals are obviously incredible (because come on... it's Dallas Green). This has definitely proven to be one of my all-time favorite albums, what more can I say? BUY IT!

Brilliant album. Some tracks border on melancholy. Green's voice is unique and exceptional.
Use of diverse instruments (organ, pedal steel, viola) is right on. "Golden State" is
genius.

To keep it short and sweet, this is C&C's best record to date. It's raw but polished, blending notes and sounds from previous records in fresh light to culminate in what I feel City and Colour fully represents. Magical album. Definitely my top of the first half of the year and probably will be my top of the year. Buy it, you will not regret it.

The Hurry And The Harm was recommended by friends and after slight hesitation, I made the purchase and do not regret it at all. It's a great album to listen to and in the end you'll find the experience enjoyable.

I have been listening to Dallas Green since he first started in Alexisonfire. This CD might quite possibly be my favorite album by him, and by City and Colour, yet! Love it. So positive, beautiful and complex. :)

I know nothing about Alexis On Fire except that the few songs I've heard I don't like (not a scream fan). This CD on the other hand is excellent. It's the only one of his I've heard thus far but is enough for me to soon purchase others. I saw an interview with him on some Direct TV Audience Channel show in which he indicated how personal the music is. He appears to feel exactly as he writes, which explains how and why the music is so emotive. I'm not sure how to describe his voice. Lovely and melancholy comes close. I've never use the word "lovely" to describes a man's voice before but it suits him.
