"The Imati awakens the imagination" -- The Examiner

From The Examiner

"This is a world in which humans are not alone. Besides the Imati, there are the powerful Seekers who hate them. There are also the SoulJumpers, who steal human bodies to host their immortal souls. And there are Eternal Councils, blue magic, and ancient prophecies.
The question here is - when faced with a real chance of a romantic love; will Alastrina give up her immortality?

To find out you must read The Imati, the new novel by C.T. Hillin. The Imati awakens the imagination. Makes one wonder "what if!" there were higher powerful creatures surrounding us simple mortals. It is nicely written, an easy read of short chapters that takes you on a tour throughout time and distance. It is catalogued as a Young Adult (YA) Supernatural / Paranormal romance novel, but really it can be enjoyed by any fan of Romance and Fantasy books.

The Imati is Hillin's first novel, and so published author can now be added to a resume that already includes writing screenplays for produced Hollywood films and articles for the Huffington Post."

About the Author

C.T. Hillin graduated from Yale in 2007 with a degree in Political Science. Previously Hillin wrote for the entertainment news site TMZ, and is currently writing for The Huffington Post. www.theimati.com Her love for history—a major inspiration for "The Imati"—is due to her own world travels, from studying abroad in Paris, to filming in Thailand, and many trips throughout Europe and Asia.

Just finished reading this newly released title. Loved it. In fact, I loved every minute reading each page. It was well written, engaging, imaginative, and immensely fun to read. No dull, over-explained characters or circumstances, yet a well developed story that just kept sucking me in deeper and deeper. Follows the basic 'immortal' notions from one of my favorite old TV series called, 'Highlander'. That was a plus for me, as was the purchase price. Though written for a younger audience, I - at age 60 - rearranged my day so that I could keep reading without interruptions till I finished. Then I passed it on to my teenage son. I was, though, left with one big question. When will Book 2 be published? Looking forward to what happens next. C.T Hillin is an author that everyone should take note of. So, Ms. Hillin, keep on writing!

This is a well written and involving story that was very hard to put down. The characters are well developed and just keep becoming more and more real as the book progresses. It was billed as a book for young adults but even as a 50-something I was riveted. I've recommended the book to many of my friends and family and am anxious for the next installment! If you want a book that immediately captures your attention and keeps it down to the very last page, this is the book for you!

This was a really interesting book. To read about someones past lives and to see how they changed especially. Then to read how the past affects the present and future is even more interesting. The author did a great job of describing the characters and their surroundings. My favorite was the clothes. There is also a love story that is in the middle of all this. Will Ally's past cost her her true love? Will she finally be able to come out of hiding? Will she ever really be free of her seekers, and of her past? This was a really interesting book and I can not wait to read more from this author. I am giving this book a 4/5. I was given a copy to review and giveaway via Blogtour.org, however all opinions are my own.

The Imati is one of the best supernatural books that I've read in a really long time. This definitely puts Hillin on my radar...I can't believe this is her first book, it read like one from a seasoned author! That being said, it ranks up there with some of the best of them. From the storyline to the characters, it's truly an entertaining and captivating book. Hillin does a great job at mixing the past and present so we can get a clear view of the characters and their history. I really hope she'll write more books soon!

it's a very smart book! by which i mean, it doesn't read as an amateur attempt at writing a sophisticated plot. i went to read the about the author and i saw why. i enjoyed it thoroughly. as i said its a sophisticated and thus complicated world. the author does a perfect job of putting enough details to make you feel your actually living in their world. most definitely recommend this book!

I have to say once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. I was a big fan of the Highlander series so this was right up my alley (haha, no pun intended). Anyway, for anyone who wants to take a ride through time, history and what it means to be human this book is for you. It say YA but realy its for anyone. Can't wait for the sequel!

The first page captures you and then you are taken away......and that is why I loved this! Thoroughly entertaining. The repartee is great,
the storyline clever and I enjoyed 'visiting' the many different locations and times. From its enchanting cover to the last page (which opens the door for more ) I highly recommend this read.

I was at work one day, and spent the better part of my shift hiding from bosses and coworkers so I could devour this book. True story. A must read for children, young adults, older adults, and anyone who wants to read a book they can't put down.
