An excellent read. The author blends personnel family history with factual history starting with the onset of America's revolutionary war. The journey brings to light historical facts (or fiction?)of famous people i.e. military persons, politicians; that typical history books ignore- real life events of politics that some may want to brush under the rug. Being from the Boston area the local historical facts are fascinating- Man of War ships patrolling Boston harbor, local sites where these ships were repelled and much more. The reader follows the author's family history during "days of old"; warring with the red coats and other groups, surviving and prospering in new lands, family relations and much more. A very factual book with mixed with events of the author's family history through multiple generations. Very enlightening.

Mr. Channell's painstakingly researched biopic is not only an excellent work of study but an enthralling tale of the twists and turns that brought one man to America and established a family. The author does an excellent job of discovery in pulling together the facts of the Abraham Fitzjohn Channell's life to form a vivid portrait of the subject. We see this very human individual brought to life again in the turbulent times in which he lived. How better to understand this bygone, colonial era than to walk its streets alongside one who knew them well. In reading "The Immortal Patriot", the author creates that experience for us. I highly recommend "The Immortal Patriot" by Frederick Channell!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book about my 4xgreat grandfather. Although I already knew a fair amount about Abraham Fitzjohn Channell's life, I learned a lot more, and it also helped to put everything in context with the History of the times.

It is a fascinating read of history from one man's and his family's perspective - and an easy read - especially for those whose primary interest may not be history. I personally think this book would make an interesting addition to school ciriculas at the middle school level or higher - it can help make history more real and interesting than just a collection of facts.

I am in the Channell family, and this great book took on special meaning for me. I hope it will appear in Audible format so I can experience it again. Immortal Patriot is a rare bit of work. It will enlighten many about early American History.
