build the correct amount of anticipation." --Sparring Stepsister Reviews

"...immediately captivated. There are only a handful of books that

(Harry Potter Series, Twilight, and Hunger Games). I hold this book in
the same regards as these others...The imagination of this author is unbelievable!"  -Amy Dewey, NC, Amazon Reviewer

emotion, and thankfully some romance that is refreshingly engaging and
I'm eagerly awaiting the next adventure!"  -Michael, MT. Amazon

"..."FREAKINFFANTABULOUSLYAMAZING" I don't feel that totally says it about it, ...I loved this book, words can't describe my amazement towards it."  -Cassie, Goodreads Reviewer

"[Catherine] Converse is the 'Queen of Suspense'! The In Between was truly an 'edge of your seat' kind of read that I could not get enough of."  --Allison Potter, contributor

"I loved this book! I read so much YA paranormal/fantasy/ sci-fi it all starts to seem sorta the same after a while. Not with this book! Author Catherine Converse creates a wholly original world and characters that felt refreshingly new."  --Indie Book Reviewer

"...there is a lot of "paranormal" fiction out there these days, and a lot of it is really good. But there are very few that allow you to connect to the characters the way that I was able to in Catherine's novel The In Between."  --R&M Book Reviews

"Catherine [Converse] did an amazing job mixing the paranormal with the criminal in this action packed story."  --Books, Brownies, & Barkers Reviews

"...a fast-paced read that offers intrigue, excitement and romance. The concept for The In Between's plot is creative. The plot structure is well developed with numerous plot twists and the characters develop in interesting ways. 3.0 out of 5 stars Could Use More Editing December 20, 2012
By Wiffee
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the concept of this book and liked the characters, the main character had the potential to be stupidly annoying, but managed to avoid that pitfall and come across as normal. Overall it was a pretty good read. However, this book could use a heavy dose of editing. I'm not talking the typical misspelled words or grammatical errors, but content and continuity editing.

For instance, there are a few sentences near the end, during the climactic showdown with the bad guy, where the main character screams and struggles against her bonds...the only problem is, she isn't put INTO those bonds until a paragraph later. Huh? It's VERY distracting and really messes up the flow when you have to re-read passages three or four times to try and figure out if you missed reading something, incorrectly inferred something or the book is just wrong. ESPECIALLY when you are supposed to engrossed in the middle of an action scene. If it was just once I would ignore it, but I can think of at least THREE instances off the top of my head.

There were also scenes where a good editor would have suggested fleshing out the descriptions more or improving flow and content. A bunch of times technology just came up out of the blue, or a power (not previously mentioned, of course) helped out and no one was really surprised, or it seemed a couple of paragraphs were accidentally deleted because WHAT the heck are they talking about, or you have to re-read a scene a few times because the descriptions are so vague or choppy you can't picture the scene in your head. I spent a good 10% of this novel confused or backtracking to try and figure out if I skipped or forgot information... I hadn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Addicted! November 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a review copy of this book and it is utterly amazing. I was totally lost in the story and by the time I finished, it was 2:30 am! Catherine did an amazing job mixing the paranormal with the criminal in this action packed story. Adie is an amazing character who is very easy to relate to. Throughout the entire book you find yourself rooting for this heroine and hanging on to every word of her self-discovery. I love the fact that Catherine hinted at certain things during the story but wouldn't give you a straight answer until the very end. As if this story could get any better, Catherine put a teaser from the second book in the series at the end and all I can say is OMG! You do not know what you are missing and I highly suggest everyone find out soon. This story is not only for a YA audience but an adult audience as well who loves twisted tales of deceit and criminal mischief.

3.0 out of 5 stars needs an editor February 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I would have loved to give this book four or even five stars and I would have been able to if the author had just hired an editor.
I loved the story - fantastic paranormal romance.
If you can dream about murders before they happen, can you stop them?
And if so, who would be interested in harnessing those powers?
Adie (Is that supposed to be Addie?) is recruited by the super secret intelligence agency - the IPA - Impire Peace Agency. What is Impire anyway? Is it a misspelling of the word Empire? If so, it is one of many misspelled words in the book along with grammatical errors and jumps in time and missing information.
The book is captivating and thrilling with plot twists and paranormal abilities and romance and danger and intrigue, but it really, really, really needs editing.

My review: 5 out of 5 stars
Let's start off with this word "FREAKINFFANTABULOUSLYAMAZING" ß I don't feel that totally says it about it, I couldn't come up with a better word, not that that is a word haha. I loved this book, words can't describe my amazement towards it. I loved the storyline, it automatically peaked my interest. It took me awhile to get the concepts but once those hit me I was thinking to myself "This is amazing, how did she come up with an idea like this?" Another one was "What if this is possible?" I would honestly be terrified out of my wits, but hey it would do a whole bunch of good in the world! I want to let you all know I one hundred and ten percent recommend this book to any person, young old, genre loving people, you won't regret this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars can almost imagine such a scenario June 4, 2013
By Alisan
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this book and wanted to find out the end - though I found it did seem to stretch the imagination a bit too much in the closing chapters and the denouement was a bit rushed.
Most of the characters were well drawn. There were a few loose ends but I see there is a sequel.
Perhaps a bit gruesome (the serial killer) for my liking in parts.
But it was, on the whole, a good read with potential of even better books to come.
