Try the app now
Try this app right now on your computer. You control the app with your mouse and keyboard to experience it like you would on your phone. Test drive this app before you buy.
How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

My first priority in an app was a virtual whiteboard. I selected this based on reviews of the android app. When I first tried it, I thought this was only a glorified Magna Doodle because I am a new Kindle user and couldn't figure out how to access the menus.

I usually turn to Amazon product reviews if I need help with a product, but I didn't see anything helpful here. The developer's tutorial on the website didn't help me at all. I looked at an iPad tutorial and the layout is not the same at all. From the reviews, I see I am not the only one who found this app is NOT intuitive. So, after some trial and error, I figured it out.

I hope this helps others, because once you get the hang of it, this is one power-packed app. That's why I give it five stars despite the rough start. It makes my Kindle Fire HD infinitely more useful. It's everything I need in a real-time virtual whiteboard.

Here's my little tutorial for other intuition-impaired users:

Tap the app open.
Create a doc by tapping the grey rectangle with the plus sign, or open a doc.
The basic toolbar appears.
Tap the pen icon, then tap the white dash at the opposite end of the toolbar where the home icon was.
This gives you a menu of pen options to select: Color, thickness, solid or dash. You can toggle this menu bar on or off using the white dash and gray square next to it. Your selections of color and line are marked by white dots.
To enter text, tap the T icon on the basic menu. Drag your finger around on the white space and a blue dotted line should appear; a cursor should appear when you release. You may need to repeat this a couple of times. When the cursor appears, tap near it and the keyboard should appear; again it may take a few tries.

4.0 out of 5 stars Electronic dry erase board May 12, 2012
Verified Purchase
Daughter was using a large dry erase board for her Advanced Algebra classes but it was cumbersome,
and kind of embarrasing. Put this little app on my Kindle Fire and let her use that; she LOVES it!
She saves scratch paper and doesn't have to lug around that big board.
As a added plus, she can email her professor if she gets hung up!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not ready for prime time August 11, 2014

Wanted to like this, but just had to delete it.... Sorry. Where do I start? I actually installed this, tried it and deleted, went back and reread the 5 star reviews, reinstalled it and tried it again, and just had to delete it as I will never ever use it. The interface is minimalistic and clunky and hard to figure out, all at the same time. OK for a drawing app with zoom capability... but it does not have an undo or a redo button, so if you make a mistake, you need to erase your work, and to erase your work, you can only do it by drawing a rectangle and deleting it. There are other much better drawing apps out there.

Tried entering text... using the big T toolbar button... and when you click on the whiteboard, you just get a dotted line and I am still not sure what it does for you. It took several tries to get the keyboard to come up, and when it did, it came up only in landscape mode although I had not enabled screen rotation. The text is entered in a text box at the top of the screen and not onto your white board. When you are done typing you click on the DONE button, and it placed the text somewhere on my white board, in landscape mode, not where I wanted it, in what appeared to be a smallish text box that did not go across the page and had many line returns inserted. And the text could not be moved, and there was no font setting (though you could initially chose a color and thickness) and the formatting could not be changed in any way. If you have a typo in the text, you can click on it and the text box pops back up (with no formatting) and it lets you modify the text. So the problem is that there is no font selection for the text and the text cannot be placed where you want it on the whiteboard, and it is always in landscape mode, even if your drawing is in portrait mode.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the app on the developers website September 9, 2013
By Gary C.
I don't know what this is. Downloaded from Amazon today and find it nearly useless. One 5 item toolbar, not the two or more tool bars with 8-10 selections on each that is in the developer's website (The Infinite Kind, LLC: <[...]>) Also, not the same app in the YouTube video. The Amazon app is ver1.0; the current "Infinite Kind" app is ver3.01.

Have no idea what the other reviewers are reviewing.

Come on Amazon.

This is a whiteboard app which allows you to create a document that can be shared with others through the SyncSpace website for viewing or collaborating. You can also share your whiteboards as graphic files using email, etc.

It seems to work well but a little more info within the app would be helpful. It would also be nice to have an "undo" option for adding text or for selecting items for deleting.

When the app opens (landscape mode only) you see a big plus sign; tapping that opens up a new whiteboard. There is a toolbar along the left with four icons at the top and a home button at the bottom.

The available tools are a drawing tool, a text tool, an eraser and a "move" tool. A "home" icon is at the bottom of the toolbar but it does nothing until you have some items on the screen. It doesn't take you back to the "add a document" screen, which I thought it would. To do that, you need to pull out the Fire's side menu on the right and tap the back arrow. You can also access a whiteboard file management menu by tapping on the menu icon on the Fire's side menu bar.

Tapping on any tool on the toolbar will reveal options for that tool. Kinda. If you tap on the drawing tool or the text tool, two bars appear at the bottom of the tool bar. Tapping on the solid bar pops up a second toolbar, allowing you to choose the color, width and appearance of the line you will draw with the tool bar. Doing the same thing for the text tool (T) pops up the same toolbar, but the only thing I've been able to change on text is the color--not the size or stroke. To use the text tool, you tap on the T, then tap and drag horizontally across your document for the desired width of the text field you want to create.

Help...missing toolbar
There is an update shown on The Infinite Kind's website. I already contacted them to let them know that their app is not updated and that it's getting bad reviews on Amazon . You might want to do the same.
