Book Description

For a woman he can't touch, he'll turn Hell inside out.

FBI Psychics, Book 4.5
There's only one reason Jay Roberts would set foot in a middle-of-nowhere town like Hell, Georgia. She's got a bone to pick with her sort-of boyfriend. They only met online, but things got hot and heavy before their cyber link went silent.
She's here to get in his face for an explanation. But no touching. Her psychic abilities make physical contact...complicated. Yet something about this relationship made her think things would be different. She's not in Hell twenty minutes before bad vibes have her skin crawling.
Corruption has stained the very fabric of Linc Dawson's town, and now it's stolen something very dear to him. The last thing he has time for is nursing Jay's broken heart.
But Jay isn't going anywhere. Not only because she's not giving up on him, because she's got access to the kind of backup nobody wants on their bad side. And Linc discovers the woman who's afraid to touch him could actually be his best chance. At salvation, at hope, at life. Maybe even love...

Warning: This book contains a not-so-naive virgin, a pissed-off former cop, lots of frustration, if you know what I mean, and more trouble than either of them know what to do with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Addition to the FBI Psychics series March 30, 2014
By Kris
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved The Innocent. It was a great addition to the series and I loved seeing how past characters came into the story and how they helped the situation(s) in Hell.

I enjoyed the underlying ease of the relationship between Linc and Jay, though outwardly they both had issues, there was an overall ease between them. I love that Jay for the most part is a "you get what you see" person, she has no shame in who she is, nor should she.

I felt so bad for Linc, because he really wanted to protect Jay AND find what happened to his daughter and he worried that with Jay there and helping she was going to be in further danger. He was no so eloquently put in between a rock and hard place. Here's this person he cares about, though he's not trying to show it, and he wants to protect her BUT she can also help him find out where his daughter is.

I was surprised at how things turned out with Linc's daughter, not at all what I expected, but so much better. Going into the story, knowing it was a novella, I wasn't expecting SO MUCH to happen, but even though it is shorter in pages, there is nothing lacking in this novella. It packs a punch full of feeling, suspense, and quite a few twists and turns that I didn't expect.

I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Jay Roberts has a psychic gift doesn’t allow her to touch anyone and gloves are her necessary accessory but she finally risks reaching out from her personal life isolation and enters into a very sexy online relationship with a cop, but after several months he suddenly breaks everything off with Jay. Now that she has reached out, Jay isn’t going to let herself just be dropped with no explanation and she goes to the small town of Hell. Only to find out there is much more going on than just a man getting cold feet.

Linc Dawson is no longer a cop, but he is now a very vengeful father out to make the people who didn’t help his missing daughter or Linc himself during his search for her suffer the consequences. It’s been months now that he has been searching and while he hasn’t found her body, he knows that the odds of finding her alive are beyond slim. When he walks into a store to find Jay there, things in his life are shaken up even more. Linc has never believed in psychic gifts and he doesn’t plan to start now.

Jay finds out what was behind Linc walking away from her but now that is only a part of her issues. Now Jay knows what is going on in Hell and she isn’t going to let it happen any longer and calls in the one type of help she knows will get the job done – other psychics. Jay and Linc struggle with their feelings while putting together the clues on what exactly happened to Linc’s daughter and the other missing people. When all of the clues finally come together some hearts will be healed and some will be broken and the small town of Hell will never be the same again, but that isn’t a bad thing. In the aftermath can Jay and Linc find a way to allow their passion to blossom into the love that is just waiting for them?

5.0 out of 5 stars The Innocent April 20, 2014
By Sue P
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In The Innocent by Shiloh Walker, Jay literally goes to Hell to meet Linc, a man she met and connected with online. Out of the blue Linc pushed her away, and Jay wants to find out why.

Jay is a psychometric, unable to touch people without experiencing what they are, their emotions, their memories. Good and bad. When Jay gets to Hell she finds there is a lot of trouble there, and Linc seems to be in the midst of it. Surprisingly, Linc is a psychic null and Jay can touch him freely, and be touched by him. Linc has not time for anything or anyone else besides what is happening in Hell. But once Jay is there and connects to Linc, she can't leave. Not only is there a job to be done there, but she has no intention of giving up on Linc. Not after what she feels for him, what he makes her feel.

When the worst happens though, how can they possibly move on and have a future? Jay just might have to let Linc go after all.

Wow, The Innocent drew me in from the first page and kept me immersed! Shiloh gives us a fast paced, pulse pounding romantic paranormal suspense in the Innocent. Anything can happen, and Shiloh manages to surprise the reader with the unexpected. The Innocent is flawlessly written with strong characters who will really make you feel. There is a lot of story in The Innocent, but the novella is easy to read and follow, very well paced.

I would highly recommend The Innocent to any romantic suspense reader who likes a paranormal aspect mixed in. You won't be disappointed!!

I have been waiting for this book for months. I purchased it on its release date!
I am 100% addicted to the FBI series by Shiloh Walker. It all started for me with, "The Missing." I bring this up because the heroine in that book is a supporting character in this book along with a few other which just multiplied my love of this book!
I don't want to go to far into the storyline or ending but I will say that though this book is considered a novella (it's 125 pages long). Mrs. Walker takes the time to develop the lead characters and get you vested in them and there lives.
I read this book from start to finish only stopping once because I had to work.
If you have not read this book, I strongly suggest you start with the first book in the series (though it is not required, this book stands on its own) and work your way to this one - the stories will keep you engaged and you will thank me - trust!

Love a kickass heroine. The psychic powers are great. The hero maybe held out too long on believing. The birnce isn't too over the top.
