something special...,

This review is from: The Intruder: Roswell High #5 (Roswell High, No 5) (Paperback)
I started out by watching the series on TV, and switched to the book. The characters are the same, but the stories are not, and I recommend that you watch-read both. About The Watch, I love how Adam(the alien boy from the compound who was prisoned with Micheal) seems both wonderfully amazed at life's little wonders, and yet, while being so innocent, he manages to show us how every one can have a darker side. I do not think he is evil, just too in touch with his emotions and his power. As for Cameron, Micheal better not fall in love with her. I like her and all, but I don't think she can be trusted. After all, she did give Valenti the info he wanted on the others... I think Ms.Matz did wonderful work with the characters. We think they're all good, then all bad. But we find out that they are just acting on their feelings and emotions. Beautiful character arcs. Anyways, the plot was great too!

This a a awesome book and would recommend the series and this book of course to any one who likes romance and mystery and sci fi. I loved this book so much. I recommend this book series to all teen UFO believers. You must buy this entire series to get the entire story! I love how the author blended true events with science fiction. This is a great book series with great cliffhangers at the end of every book.

This book continues the Roswell saga where the other one finished off.with Micheal held captive by Valenti (who gets hot under the collar by the end-literally)and meets 3 new playmates there's a new girl in town in the form of traitor Cameron who Mikey is smitten with and cute (or is he,Max?) innocent Alien Adam who loves Daddy Valenti until he finds out what he is and then escapes the compound and falls for our resident princess Liz much to Maxs dismay, the scene in the car where Max obsesses about whether or not Adam is cute is so funny i went into hysterics. The endeing is funfilled with the gang springing Mikey from the compound and finding out a little something about Adam in the process, all is revealed in the next installment. chock full of shocks suprises and sweetness esp. Max and Liz a must read for everyone. i personally could not put it down and have banned my sisters grubby mitts from EVER reading it.

Great Book!,

My oldest daughter read these books years ago, and she recently passed them on to her little sister who is 11. My youngest daughter started with the first one and has read all 10 books straight though. She LOVES them as much as her big sister. Her favorite character is Michael (Big Sis loved Max). She is constantly talking about the books to me and has gotten several of her friends hooked on them, too. They've been well-read over the last few months by many of my daughter's friends. She has also seen much of the t.v. series based on these books. The series only loosely follows the story lines in the books, and both of my daughters have told me that the books are much, much better. Based on their conversations with me and the enthusiasm with which they read them, I would recommend these books to any pre-teen girl.

Book #4 "The Watcher" ended with Isabel getting back to Max with the crystals to save him after Michael was captured and Ray, ther alien friend, killed. This book starts out with Max taking the crystals to unite with his world's consciousness, and being saved. We also see Michael's experiences in the Clean Slate lab. He meets up with a human girl who's supposed to be psychic (she's a runaway coerced by Valenti in to conning him into revealing his secrets)and a boy named Adam who was in the only incubation pod that Ray couldn't rescue in 1947. Adam had been raised by Valenti as his "son" with no contact in the outside world and subjected to constant experiments The three teens make an escape attempt, only Adam gets out. Cameron, the girl, stays behind as part of her cover to get the information from Michael. Adam reaches Roswell and the rest of the gang, they aren't sure about him but raid Clean Slate to rescue Michael. Adam destroys the place using his powers.

I thought this was going to be a little bit more boring because Max was fine now but then Melinda Metz went to this whole other level that every reader of these books should see! It was so good and I can't wait til the next book. Thank you Melinda! One word to describe this book-WOW!
