Book Description

The Ivy House - A Contemporary Romance - Book 3 In the Queensbay Series

Phoebe Ryan is Hollywood royalty, the grand-daughter of Savannah Ryan, a screen legend. All her life she’s been a Californian golden girl. But all that glitters isn't gold. When Savannah dies, Phoebe’s troubles have only just begin. Before she knows it, she’s been dumped, fired and evicted. All of sudden the glamour of LA is starting to wear a little thin.

So when she discovers Savannah has left her a small house in Queensbay, more than three thousand miles away, Phoebe eagerly hops on a plane.

Savannah had always told her that the Ivy House was magical, but the rundown cottage that faces her isn't what she expected. And neither is Chase Sanders, the grandson of the man with whom Savannah once had a torrid affair. Is Phoebe meant to relive the past? Or can Phoebe and Chase find their own magic in the Ivy House?

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read March 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was asked to read and review this book and was very excited to do this after reading Rough Harbor which is the 1st book in the Queensbay Series. I really enjoyed Rough Harbor. It introduced Noah & Caitlyn who appear several times in this book. You don't have to read Rough Harbor as this is a stand alone book but because some of the appearances of Noah & Caitlyn, I would recommend it. Not because it helps understand this story, just because it is a beautiful story and it will make you understand all the help they give to Chase & Phoebe. The Ivy House is very different story than Rough Harbor but is equally exciting. I love the story of Phoebe Ryan (granddaughter of recently deceased movie star Savannah Ryan) & Chase Sanders (grandson of Savannah's dead husband Leland). . When Phoebe comes from LA to Queensbay to take care of her grandmothers estate and home she inherits, she meets Chase who wants to buy the home right out from under her. The meeting of the two turns into something that neither of them expect or want. What follows is her love of the home and the magic of love she believes the house possesses. She has never felt truly "at home" until she spends time in this beat up run down home overlooking the water. This is a true love story that will have your heart hurting at times & you will be fanning yourself at other times. It was very well written, the steam of the characters was very hot and you can't help but fall in love with Phoebe & Chase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blown away again March 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Ivy House (A Queensbay Novel) Wow Drea, I am literally blown away again. I love your books so much. I have been a reader of Harlequin romances for a long time and the romances in your books are phenomenal!! When I read Rough Harbor, I was hoping you would write a book with Chase as the main character. So when I started reading Ivy House I was so happy to see him. You could feel the connection between him and Phoebe from the first time that they met. I so loved their storyline. Even though there are sex scenes in both of your books, they are done tastefully and not too graphic for those of you out there that are wondering. You will not be disappointed in this book. If you continue with the Queensbay Novel series, I would love to see one with Lynn. She turned out to be a great friend for Phoebe. I also enjoyed the follow up of Noah and Caitlyn. I hope your future books let us the about their baby!!! For those of you wondering, these are stand alone books, but the characters intertwine with each other. I recommend this book for you to read, very enjoyable. Once I started I actually read in one day, didn't want to put it down!! Waiting on more Drea, keep them coming!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Female Lead March 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this book for free for an honest review and I loved it! Strong female lead with brains, feelings and independence - not usually what I read and it was truly refreshing. It is the sequel to Rough Harbor but could easily be read as a stand alone. Steamy sex scenes but nothing overly descriptive, nice beautifully written to heat up my Kindle. Can't wait for another Queensbay Novel, maybe Lynn finds love?

4.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this story February 15, 2014

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Ivy House is the third book in the Queensbay Novel series. I read the first one yesterday and once I realized I already had this one I quickly started reading it. I know I skipped Rough Harbor, and while you do get to see the results of that book it is not necessary to read these books in order.

Even though the basic structure of the story is the same as Dinner for Two, the same basic plot points with different characters, I really enjoyed The Ivy House. I don't know what it is exactly, but whatever it is I really enjoy it. The attraction between the two people is always amazing. The people are instantly attracted to each other, but it take a little bit to fall in love. Something happens to upset the girl, they both care for the other but don't think it is reciprocated. and then everything works out. I liked the resolution in this book better than the first. It seemed more realistic and not as rushed.

Phoebe comes to Queensbay after her grandmother who raised her died. She left Phoebe the house, and when she gets there she is not quite sure what she wants to do with it. It needs work, and Phoebe doesn't have anything else pressing so she decides to stay and fix it up and start her own design line.

Chase is known to be a ladies man, but he really uses that for a business advantage. He has always wanted Phoebe's house, and when he learns that it might be for sale again he immediately goes up there to try and buy it from her. Of course things don't go as planned, they don't hit it off right away. They both think the other wants to destroy the house, when the both really just want to save it.

Slowly they start to get to know each other and fall for each other. They both still think the other has ulterior motives, or doesn't want the same things they do.

5.0 out of 5 stars loved it! December 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I haven't read this author before and I believe I read this out of order in the series but it wasn't necessary to read the first book to read this one. I liked the characters, from Phoebe, who so desperately wants to be recognized as her own person to Chase, who is thought to be a playboy. It's funny, but I didn't even realize that they both are used by the media, until I started writing this now. The romance is sweet and the attraction is evident between the main characters. I can't wait to go back and read the first book. I will definitely be looking for more books in this series!

More About the Author

I'm an author of contemporary romance, a reader of just about everything including YA, cozy mysteries, romantic suspense and historical novels. And catalogs - I just love it when the newest Pottery Barn catalog shows up. I imagine that someday I might have a house that put together. Like a lot of writers, I feel like I was born with a pen in my hand - even though I use a computer.
I've certainly always been a great reader, starting with every Nancy Drew book out there, moving onto Agatha Christie and Harlequin Romances - yup, books are more real to me than real life, so that's why I decided to write them.

I have three kids and am married to my high school sweetheart - yup, no fooling there. I like to cook, make chocolate chip cookies and try to garden but mostly I wind up killing things. I guess keeping the kids safe, (mostly) clean and fed comes first in my priority list.

I grew up in Manhattan and a small town on Long Island. While there's something to be said about the hustle and bustle of the city, I am really a small town girl at heart. And I love the water, which is why I set my series in a small fictional Connecticut town. Growing up I spent a lot of time boating along both sides of Long Island Sound and I have a lot of appreciation for the towns, people and landscape of the area.
