I always try really hard to finish books once I start them even if they don't grab me right away. This one however....I just couldn't do it. I even set it aside and picked it up a few days later thinking maybe I wasn't in the right mood. Nope. I made it to 62 percent and finally gave up. I really liked the concept of teacher and student, but Marc just seemed like a huge jerk to me. I don't think he treated Sophia well at all. I am all for books with Alpaha males and whatnot, but he was just skeevy and creepy. The scene when she is in the hospital and he is taping her on his iPhone totally gave me the creeps. Also, Ryan doesn't get into any trouble for putting rat poison in her soda?? She just tells him not to do it to anyone else. Okay, not the way I would have handled it and I don't think my significant other would let it go that easily either. The "Ryan is secretly in love with you" excuse was very odd too. The story didn't flow well and confused me. They barely knew each other and he was already saying he is going to quit teaching at the school (HIS school) for her. Everything was just incredibly unbelievable to me. The whole scholorship with money to go shopping for expensive clothes before she starts school? Do things like this really happen? I love a good erotic romance, but this one was just awful. Thank God I got it when it was free.

This is one book I never bothered reading a single review before getting it, after all, I have learned a lesson wherein I have purchased many books based on strong and raving reviews (and many of them have good insights) only to find out the story is not for me, not something I would enjoy reading...but this? I'm rendered speechless! I can't help falling in love with both of them, Marc and Sophia..

Marc, as complicated and guarded as one who has had a dark past can be...puzzling, at times cryptic...you get reeled into his world. Enigmatic! a seeming contradiction to what he does, his generosity and overwhelming drive to give and support those who have aspirations to become better performers/actors. He doesn't stop there, he gives and support his community, he teaches, has an ambiguous ambition and drive to push his students to give as an actor, only their best. He's protective of his privacy. loves to be in control, always in control of his emotions he doesn't let anyone in...until Sophia...try as he might, he's fallen utterly in love.

Sophia.. as pure and innocent as they come, so refreshingly true and kind and sees the good in all evil, so accepting of Marc's set of rules yet strong and relentless of her pursuit to teach Marc to learn to open up, to feel and be free! Ready to give up her privacy, willing to accept any ridicule and insults loving Marc might bring...as trying and daunting as it might, she's fallen hopelessly in love.

Love doesn't choose, love comes in many forms...there may be a one way dominance and of unchallenged submission, but LOVE found their way...that last night they were together, the night Marc totally gave himself up and they made love...that night was so poignant it left me misty eyed.

A terribly frustrating book that I skipped mostly through. My reasons:

- I found the writing style to be quite immature with strange grammar and odd punctuation.

- The characters seemed simply unreal. I just couldn't believe in them or what they said or how they acted.

- It felt like too little research was done. It was as if the authors hadn't put themselves into those situations and made sure they were described correctly or happened believably. Like they were referencing things they had heard about without the practical application.

Apologies to the authors but the whole time I was (kinda) reading this book, I kept on imagining 2 teenage girls lying on their bed, writing this book and giggling while staring at a poster of Robert Pattinson.

Sorry.

I always finish what I start, and that is the only thing that got me through this book. After reading all of the good reviews of this book I was excited to start reading it, but that excitement died after the first chapters. The story isn't believable and I couldn't connect with the female lead. The only thing that I did like was that I did not have to pay to read this because I have prime.

Where to start? This book was so/so the premise of the story has so much potential, yet for me it fell short. Teacher/ student romances are not new, but this one was awkward. I felt Sonia and Marc didn't have enough chemistry or genuine desire for one another. They both said many times they wanted each other, but to me it lacked emotion. There wasn't enough interaction between them. They didn't want anyone to know about their clandestine relationship, yet they told people! I did like Sophia, but she needed a bit more backbone. Many times she didn't like Marc's action and did vocalize it, but she always went along. I want shake her to Speak Up!!! Marc fell short for me yes he wanted to be in control, but it wasn't all believable some of things he would say didn't pan out. It seemed everything he did was to make her a better actress. I'll read the next book to see what happens hopefully it gets better.
