Editorial Reviews

He looks like Jesus Christ. And preaches like St. Francis of Assisi. Some say he's "a kook." Others, "a blessing from God." Barefoot, and clad in a white robe, he's walked through 47 states [and 13 countries] on a 16-year mission that's captured media attention from 20/20, Time and the Wall Street Journal. Yet who is this solitary figure who inspires faith - and attracts controversy? "The Jesus Guy" covers the mystical journey of America's "Barefoot Evangelist." In a nation that worships money, he's penniless. In a culture that idolizes celebrities, he's forsaken his identity. Now, on a spiritual quest even he doesn't fully understand, his faith - and your own - will be tested every step of the way. With the intimacy of single-camera filmmaking, Director Sean Tracey allows us to walk in "The Jesus Guy's" steps as he encounters both skeptics and believers, changing them...for better, for worse, forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Documentary June 3, 2012
By V
Format:DVD
It's a great documentary, a story about a man walking his 'talk' and living his beliefs. There was a disgruntled women featured in the movie. I'm not sure 'why' she was so upset, she rants about 'the Jesus guy' being only a man and that God is working 'through' him but, I mean, that's how God works through anyone. It is never the 'individual' but the Holy Spirit working in the individual to bring about God's will. The bible says we're 'vessels' and 'temples' of the most High. The Jesus Guy is just doing the great commission that Christ called all of his followers to do, which is to preach the Gospel. He happens to do this barefoot and in a white robe, but so what. He accepts no money and lives a kind of nomadic lifestyle but again, so what. That doesn't take away from the fact that in a world that makes money 'an absolute necessity' The Jesus guy is living without it. In a world with so many religions, he's "not" being in that gray zone of total acceptance but taking a firm stand about what and 'who' he believes in. The only bad thing about this film is that there isn't 'more' of it or something like it. God bless 'The Jesus guy' for taking such a prominent & public stance on the 'truth' which is the Gospel of Christ.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
