The title of this book is unfortunate, as it may give people the impression that it is a hate-filled screed. In fact Professor Martin has every reason to cry foul after the way he was defamed by groups who did not want him to discuss the role played by Jewish merchants in the African slave trade. In order to understand the growing polarization in American society between certain groups, one must understand how interest groups like AIPAC and the ADL aggressively and in coordinated fashion work to suppress legitimate discussion of difficult issues as they did with Professor Martin. Anyone who thinks that the work of these groups is in the interest of those they purport to represent is sadly misguided. Might does not make right, whether it is physical or military strength we are talking about, or the power of organized activism by well-funded groups of radicals posing as moderates. Do not be afraid to look at both sides in ANY debate, no matter how effectively anyone has managed to portray someone in a negative light. Look behind the rhetoric and the propaganda and try to understand exactly what the sources of animosity and misunderstandings are--this book is a great place to start.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, one of my all time favorites November 9, 2008
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Anyone who thinks the Jewish lobby exists only for the protection of Israel needs to read this book. There's a much greater agenda and everyone needs to know about it. Tony Martin is a skilled writer. He keeps you on the edge of your seat as he recollects the odd and maddening series of events, all with bits of irreverent humour mixed in. The account is terribly disturbing, but sadly, not surprising since this kind of attack happens often to those who speak out against the crimes these people have committed over the centuries. Some even get to survive with only their reputations tarnished. Others aren't so lucky.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suppression of Academic Freedom April 18, 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
In 1993, Doctor Tony Martin, a highly respected historian with many academic credentials, quoted from the book, "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews", during just one African-American History class period. "The Secret Relationship" uses Jewish historical records to prove who owned the majority of slave ships and slave auction houses. For Dr. Martin's indescretion, he was targeted by the Jewish student organization, Hillel, the B'nai B'rith and the Anti-Defamation League.

This book documents many of the events that transpired at Wellesley College after the smear campaign began.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Concur October 15, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you plan on using your 'freedom of speech' any time and it involves disagreeing with unjust Jews, then expect some harsh and unwarranted attacks. You really don't need to read Dr. Martin's book (but I recommend you do) to witness the myriad of attacks on people who form opposing views to any Jewish idea or philosophy-just look at any society in any nation and witness how the unjust Jews interact within those societies. Their actions speak for themselves; however, Dr. Martin has every right to protect his opinions, facts, and perspectives without such unscrupulous tactics being used against him. Though he fought and won, his reputation was placed for a martyr, and we who will come after him need to let his experience be an example of their capabilities when they attack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Double Standards? November 29, 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Professor Martin's book is alarming because of how it exposes the activities and assaults of the Jewish lobby. It is also highly informative as it exposes a new perspective on why and how the slave trade was perpetuated (referring to the earlier work by the Nation Of Islam) while highlighting the personal struggles of one man who spoke a truth (however unpalatable it may be for some groups)

As a Christian and Pan African, I'm not a big fan of the Nation Of Islam and was initially very sceptical, however their work (and Professor Martin's) is based on Jewish historical archives.

How Can the Jewish Community expect Europe and White people to perpetually pay the price for the Holocaust? Are they going to keep the poor Germans on their metaphorical knees, paying the price for Nazism forever?

Jews can't expect sympathy for the holocaust, yet attempt to silence an acedemic who points out their role in the Slave Trade? I note their are few outright denials of the facts he presents (as all the evidence comes from Jewish archives) Professor Martin just faces accusations of anti-semitism instead.

To quotes a wiser man than I: "An anti-semite used to be someone who hates Jews, now an anti-semite is someone the Jews hate"

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hero's Tale February 12, 2006
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this book after listening to a tape of a lecture given by Professor Martin at an IHR conference. That tape, which I recommend even more highly than this book is available from [...] .

In a nutshell, this gives a recounting of Prof. Martin's incredible experiences at the hands of organized Jewish groups, such as the American Jewish Committee, the American Jewish Congress, the Anti-Defamation League, and others. The main problem is the book covers a period of about only a year or so of the campaign against Prof. Martin. The tape mentioned above, in 57 minutes, summarizes nearly ten years of that campaign.

Another minor drawback of this book is a slight embarassing petulance in emphasizing the spelling the first letter of "Black" in upper case and "white" in the lower case. It may not offend non-Whites, but it does offend me. But that's not important.

The main thing is that Professor Martin was indeed subjected to an unbelievable onslaught, and his resilience and perserverance in its face makes me admire him very greatly.

I am White and proudly Euro-centric, but Tony Martin is a hero to his Race, country, and humanity as a whole - and to me.
