More About the Author
My name is Carolyn Sue "Bollan" Morris. I was born in Valparaiso, Indiana. I now reside in northeast Indiana with my husband John. We have two grown children, and now share our home with our little Bichon, Dusty Boy. "The Journey, The Dreams, & Annabelle" was my first published work. After my mother, Annabelle, passed away on October 4, 2007, the manuscript she loved so much lay untouched for almost a year. She was my biggest fan and always wanted me to pursue my writing. She loved my poetry as well. I finally realized that my grief could be put into completion of the book. It was well received, but readers said that it left too many unanswered questions. I honestly didn't expect it to be read, it was just a wonderful dream of mine. This prompted me to write the follow-up, "AnnaBelle's Spirit". I have since learned that I really need to have my manuscripts professionally edited. Please excuse my little mistakes throughout the books. One reader told me she caught them, but thought they were endearing to the book, how sweet is that? I am in the process of combining these two books into one longer saga to complete the circle. My journeys with AnnaBelle were amazing; I have barely touched on the journeys that I shared with my beautiful mother. The final book will be more in depth and continuing. I love to author non-fiction, it takes me back to people & places I have loved, and some that I didn't, but it is what makes a story of merit worth reading. I am in the process of studying the history of Kentucky and that of my family to take this story to the next level. I have included family photos in the first 2 books, and plan to add more to this current work. I believe it brings the family to life for you, the reader to see the actual person. As with all families, ours also has a dark side, and secrets. I will continue to try to use good judgment in how I narrate these. I do struggle with some issues, but I also know the truth will rule out.
My passion for writing, and my love for dogs, combined to help me write a series of children's picture books, "The Adventures Of Dusty Boy". I definitely had help from Dusty himself. I hope to have them published later this year. I hope you will look for them.
Thank you for your interest in my work.
