I did the 7 day juice detox because I had been eating poorly and wanted to feel clean and healthy, not necessarily to lose weight. I did lose a few pounds, and felt very cleansed by the end. I also never felt hungry. This book did exactly what I wanted it to do. I will probably buy a juice recipe book to continue juicing, but there were some good recipes in this one too that I will use again. If you need an easy plan that tells you exactly what to do, this one is for you.
Just a warning: following the plan (especially the 7 day) is a bit pricey, just because of all the produce and supplements (like psyllium husks and milk thistle tincture), but I felt it was worth it!
We have been juicing through the weekend. I have not been hungry, and feel so dang darn good!! Everyhting we made from the recipes are so amazingly fabulous! Nothing yucky. Amazing taste in all the juices! This book is more than a recipe book or a diet book, it is a " way of life" book.
Through this new life plan, I have lost so much weight feel great and am so excited to add juicing to the plan! Amazing for me to say being the former obese junk food-aholic. Life is so good!
Get the book! You will not be disappointed!
THe only thing was hard for me was find some of the aditional products they ask in each recipe, but anyways with or wthout those the combination of the fruits and vegetables that they have in this book are delicious :)
I tried the "Reboot with Joe" juice diet as well as a few others, but I was always hungry no matter what. This diet, which allows you to choose from three types and durations of programs (or to do them consecutively), includes the kinds of meals and snacks I would naturally have anyway (salads loaded with vegetables, hummus and crudités, herbal teas, nuts and seeds, olives and artichoke hearts), so it's not in any way the kind of departure from the norm that the occasionally very strange meal recipes of RWJ represent (which also require lots of planning, preparation and acclimatization to incorporate). Also, whereas RWJ requires often drinking the same kind of juice two days in a row, this one includes an incredible variety of juices with no overlap—and I have yet to try one that isn't delicious. The juices are not only tasty and (many of them) atypical, they also include such things as small amounts of plain yogurt, flax seed meal and green superfood powders (no specific brand, so it's easier). I found I wasn't really losing weight doing the food and juice together because it's such a nutrient-dense diet, but cutting out much of the food solved the problem. The juices by themselves are very substantial and surprisingly energizing; I really feel like I'm getting a wide and plentiful variety of nutrients each day. It was new to me to be adding anything at all to my juice, but the additions really do help make the juices a true meal replacement while meeting your needs for such things as essential fatty acids (EFAs).
