Book Description

Love, lies & Methadone. Not your mother's Celebrity Rehab.

From suburbia to the back alley shooting galleries of New York City comes a collection of previous published short stories by author j.a.kazimer. The Junkie Tales offers a voyeuristic glimpse into the life of a junkie. The tales are gritty, urban, sometimes humorous, but always twisted.

Benjamin Coleman is in love. Jodie Dean has a secret. Will either survive sex with a shooting star?

Dope. Sick. Love:
Colin lays dying on a dirty bathroom floor, a lethal dose of heroin in his veins, and her name on his lips.

BENT:
Meet Geraldine, a junkie with a heart of ice and a habit to match.

Daddy's Girl:
What happens when a mother's addiction tears a family apart?

Slut. Bitch. Whore 2.0:
What will one man do for the thing he desires most?

Review

...the standout for me was "Slut, Bitch, Whore". This was a dark and funny story with a great final twist. Kazimer is a new name to me but one I'll be keeping an eye out for.  ~ Savage Kick #5, Spinetingler Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be required reading... May 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved this. The tales were heartbreaking, sick, painful to read, and sad. It made me FEEL. A few of these short stories should be required reading in high school - they pack a big punch. If you know an addict - or hopefully a recovering one - the stories will really speak to you. Give this book a read - you'll learn something.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awe inspiring and frightening November 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Often caught off guard, this is a book that will make you contemplate life and the disease of addiction. It will sometimes move you to tears, but more than anything, it will fill you with gratitude. But, for the grace of God, go I.

From the darkest side. Hard reading as so sad the lives...had to put down after a few stories as the creepiness almost came to life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heroin Chic
It's like a documentary meets the satire of David Sedaris. It's dark and poetic and powerful. While a quick read, it haunted me for days.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected
I was hoping for a story similar of my own or those traded by friends to friends. It was interesting to read little pieces of a story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not reality of addiction
They were to short no real ending to most. I regret reading this one. Everyone likes different stories and I just didn't care for this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible
No story line, no developed characters. It is basically 1000 2-page stories that repeat the same thing again and again. Confusing and difficult to follow... save your money.

The Junkie Tales by J.A. Kazimer is a collection of short stories centered around the `incomprehensible demoralization' of substance abuse and addiction. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Didnt realize what I was reading, until I was done!
I give it 5 stars just because the way the tales were worded were quite amazing. The way they portrayed the drug in such amazing words. It was great for that. Read more
