About the Author

Eric Ruhalter works in television in NYC, making commercials about movies. At night, he comes home to his wife Kara and their three rambunctious children. There, he's able to step inside of himself to write down the unique and unusual observations that inspire him. He also enjoys editing video, pimping his work via social media, surfing, Frisbee, and ping pong. He studied economics at Dickinson College where he learned that he's not the least bit interested in the theories of economics. So rather than study, he spent most of his time writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect gift for a new parent September 12, 2012
Format:Paperback
I just received this book as a birthday gift from a dear friend. As a new mom... I needed a laugh. This book is packed with hilarious words and relatable definitions. The author has done a great job of summing up what having kids is all about. My husband and I have found ourselves making up our own fun words to sum up our son's behavior. This is a great book for any parent or parent-to-be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally there are words to describe them! April 9, 2012
By Todd
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I got this on Kindle fire, I'm an uncle 10 times over & I got this to lighten up some of the many "kid friendly" events. It's such a hit, funny words that perfectly capture common behaviors of kids & their parents. Several of these words will provide parents with a strategic advantage, things you won't learn in the usual "how-to" parent guides.

We even started making a game of it by trying to guess what the word means just from hearing it, then trying to use it in a sentence... Dad knew he'd have to Carnivoid his way to the store & back, or spend $100 on games, rides & cotton candy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny and Light March 26, 2012
Format:Paperback
When I first brought my son home from the hospital. My first thought was they are sending us home with a baby? Are they crazy! Teach and I looked at each other and said, "now what do we do?" You hear people say all the time, they wish the baby came with a manual. Well people, as the babies turn into kids we realize the baby part was THE easy part. Umm...humor is what gets me through as a mom. Kids are naturally funny and this book is perfect for anyone who spends any amount of time with kids. Did you know that a Hairricane is a girls knotty, messy hair and the ensuing tantrums that erupt when her mother tries to comb them out?? Now you do!

Adorable pocket size book with whimsical, nonsensical words that actually might make complete sense to you when you read them! I'm a parent and I knew about 85% of them although I didn't know there were actual words for them. Made up a couple of my own along the way too!

Great gift idea or just for a fun read!
