Kirby ROCKS!,
By Randy (West Chester, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Kirby Collection (DVD)
I love the Kirby anime show. I watch it nearly every Saturday morning with my two brothers and have been a Kirby fan since the beginning. This DVD contains the following episodes:DISC ONE: Plus, a bonus documentary on the brand new GameCube game Kirby Air Ride is included, which helps if you own the game, and is also just fun to watch. All this at a great price. This is an must-have for any Kirby fan. Keep watching Kirby: Right Back At Ya! every Saturday morning only on the FoxBox!

This is how I remember cartoons!,

This cute, but at the same time interesting, series is one of my all time favorites. The hero, a pink thing (we don't know exactly what he is) named Kirby, is fun and exciting without being mean or cruel like so many "heroes" are today. Another thing I like is that not all of the episodes are the same. They usually revolve around King DeDeDe ordering a monster from NME, but the monsters are all different and there is usually more than one story happening at once. The monsters are cute, too, so they won't keep you (or your kids) up at night.

Don't get me wrong, the Kirby anime is my favorite. I can't get enough of it. However this DVD is a complete and utter ripoff. It's *dub-only.* No Japanese w/subs option like any other anime DVD. No uncut version. Just the made-for-TV dub. Don't pay for something you can see on TV for free. Not to mention the english dub of this show is outright painful to watch. There are other places to buy the Japanese DVDs. They're more expensive but you'll get much higher quality. Even if you don't understand the language they're a million times better than this. I've boycotted all dubbed Kirby DVDs because the company should be releasing them uncut with the option to watch them in their original format. I suggest everyone else do the same if you care at all about Kirby. |
