A good story by a first-time author. With a multi-character, fast-paced construct similarly used by the Ludlums, Crichtons and Grishams, this book brings an interesting premise together and never lets up. Definitely worth a read...would make for a great airplane ride distraction. My only "criticism" is that it's over with too quickly...thus making it single-flight material. Buy it and read it. And then hope Mr. Sweeney writes another book.

This is one action packed adventure. Sweeney does an excellent job getting the reader involved with the characters, locations and circumstances. Once you get this book started it's impossible to put it down. Catch your breath and hold on for one fantastic adventure. I can't wait to see the movie. Hopefully we will be gifted with many more Sweeney works in the near future!

A riveting, suspenseful, twisting thriller! A must read for any Grisham fan. The Labyrinth Campaign will certainly leave you wanting more. The most spellbinding thought this could actually happen in today's political and corporate world. Can easily see a star studded cast of any combo from L. Dicaprio, M.Damon, M.Douglas, J.Lucas, J.Gyllenhaal, A.Jolie, H.Ford, G.Clooney or T.Cruise on the big screen making us glad we bought a ticket & keeping us on edge wanting to know what's around the next corner...

Can't wait for the follow up on Jack & Kate.
Can't wait to see who plays Jack McCarthy on screen.

Well done J.Michael Sweeney for an awesome realistic Thriller!

Wow. That's all I can say: Wow. Compelling premise and story. The writing is excellent and the action scenes are great. J. Michael Sweeney made this highly crafted romp really credible and entertaining. The story never gets boring as Jack McCarthy's life evolves completely away from one of simple ambition to one where his ambitions have him caught up in web of intrigue that brings out in him a deadly opponent (think Jason Statham). It's like a hot trip through a nightmare. I can highly recommend it to every John Grisham fan.

The Labyrinth Campaign by Mike Sweeney
5 STARS
Wow! A scary political book. Its not republican or demacratic its money and power against little guys trying to do the right thing in this thriller.
You don't want to put this book down. Every time you think it will work out you hit a dead end.
Jack McCarthy life is going great. He helped with campaign for his work and he got job offer to work on Will Hawkins Presidental run for office. He is living with Carrie his girl friend.
Jack is waiting to go into Will Hawkin's office , when he over hears him shouting in the phone. So Jack is curious so he picks up the phone and listens. What he over hears makes him stuned. Will is on the phone to the biggest drug dealer in Mexico talking about making accidents that will make the President of United States lose the election because of his lax envirmental policys.
Jack leaves quickly before he is found listening to one of the richest man in the country. Jack decides who he can trust with the information. He picks Steve Bess his mentor adviser. Steve is shocked to and decides to tell his boss.
Steve is than dies from what looks like a heart attack. Carrie takes Jacks car to run errands in and when she starts the car a bomb goes off.
Jack is in when the police questions him and requestions him. Meanwhile a false story appeared in newspaper saying he eirwas under investigation for dealing drugs.
I don't want to give anything else but he keeps trying to figure out what way to go and more adventure and attempts are made for his life and anyone he confides in life.
Their is a reporter looking into Hawkins college life in England who gets a lead for a story.
Their is someone who has information he tries to blackmail Hawkins.
If you like thrillers this book is a must read. I definately would read more books from him. I was lent this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley.

What happens when you toss international eco-terrorism, presidential campaigns, drug czars and car chases into a powder keg and light the match? The Labyrinth Campaign. Sweeney's first novel is a power-packed international thriller straight out of the Ludlum mold. Protagonist Jack McCarthy is well-drawn and believable, and following him as he tries to outrun his pursuers is sure to get your adrenaline pumping. Buy this book, read it - then read it again...and be sure to hold on for the ride!

A intriguing look inside the US political machine and what some people would do to succeed at all costs. The book keeps you reading cover to cover, I couldn't put the book down until I finished. Extra fine details and characters are the backbone that drive this book to the exciting conclusion. The plot is truly a "labyrinth" that has the reader weaving along with the characters and you can't wait to find out what happens next. Highly recommend, five stars!!!

Fantastic read from start to finish. Great characters and locations that had me not being able to wait to pick up the book again and continue reading. One of the best books I've read in a long time. Thanks Mr. Sweeney!

This was definitely an exciting read. The setup draws you in thinking the story might be a nice chapter-a-night book. But once I read the first chapter, well let's just say the book was finished before morning. The only bad thing was that after reading this book I wanted to read a bunch more books just like it. So when's the next one coming out?

My best comment on the story is this, hits a little close to home when it comes to what's happening in American politics. Wag the dog meets conspiracy theory, I need to believe that it all just fiction. But wow! There's a lot to think about when reading this book and thinking of what has happened in American the past 10 years or so.

Good book. Definitely leaves you wanting more from this author.
