About the Author
On her first day of Kindergarten, Julie put on her frilliest pink Birthday dress. Her mom helped her put her hair into a bun and, as she was heading out the door, Julie grabbed a peacock feather from a nearby vase and carefully placed it in her hair. At school, Julie was very different from the other girls. She was shy, loved to read, and quoted Audrey Hepburn instead of children's shows.
Inspired by her childhood, many of the events described in this story are true, including the swarm of ladybugs that covered the author's body one summer morning (although they
didn't talk.) Julie hopes that this book will delight young girls and awaken the true inner princess that lies within all of them.
