    Product Description

Your favorite dinosaur friends from the Great Valley are back for the coolest adventure of their lives, in The Land Before Time: The Big Freeze. In this chilling and thrilling new escapade, snow falls in the Valley for the first time, puzzling and enchanting everyone. It's not long before they all realize that these fun and fluffy white flakes are threatening their survival. But Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky and Petrie are more worried about Spike. A visiting Stegosaurus herd fascinates Spike, who decides to join them on their journey to escape the freeze. When Ducky secretly follows him to the Mysterious Beyond, Littlefoot, Cera and Petrie decide to brave the icy weather to bring back their missing friends. Know-it-all Mr. Thicknose (voice of Emmy Award winning actor Robert Guillaume) insists on going along and soon discovers he has lessons to learn from the young ones. The magical animation, enchanting songs, and touching story about friendship and family make The Land Before Time: The Big Freeze a captivating film that will warm your family's heart and provide an avalanche of fun for years to come.

When the dinosaurs of the Great Valley wake up to find themselves covered with "white ground sparkles," the prehistoric lizard kids have snowball fights, but the adults understand the threat to their food supply. So when a traveling family of spiketails (Stegosauruses) offers to take Spike with them in search of warmer climes and more munchies, his adoptive mother reluctantly agrees. But his adoptive sister Ducky sets off after him and the rest of the playmates form a rescue party joined by the blustering elder, Mr. Thicknose (the voice of Robert Guillaume). The small band faces a T-Rex, landslides, blizzards, wind shear on Petrie the Pterosaur's wings and, finally, ice skating into hot springs, which ultimately save the valley's dino denizens. As with its predecessors, this 72-minute film combines a little science and song with a lot of life instruction for the preschool and grade-school crowd. (Ages 3 to 7) --Kimberly Heinrichs

The gang is back and having another adventure! When I saw the first Land Before Time video I could not have imagined that there would be this many sequels. But, I have to hand it to the producers; the sequels have all been of good quality. This one is no exception. The songs are great for kids to sing along with and the plot, although predictable, is very creative. Global cooling has come to the Great Valley and Little Foot, Ducky and the gang have to try to get Spike back from some traveling Spike Tails that have adopted him. My daughter loves this video and if your kids have liked the previous ones then I think they will like this one also.

This is, in my opinion, the second best Land Before Time Movie. I like it cos' it snows in The Great Valley and they meet up with two new freinds - Mr. Thicknose and Tippi.

I must say, though, this film (and other Land Before Times) are only suitable for younger viewers. If you are older and know more about dinosaursd (like me!!), I would certainly recomend Walking with Dinosaurs and Walking with Beasts.

Okay then. This is one freaky episode. Doesn't anybody know what SNOW is? Littlefoot has getting really annoying, Cera seems more like a pre-school nerd, Petrie is having some issues with trees, and this dumb charactor named Mr. Thicknose is really living up to his name. All in all, this is one stupid episode.

I bought this movie because my son has become obsessed with Land before Time. I got tired of watching the same 2 over and over again so I ordered about 5 different ones. Since now I have about 7 and watch them VERY frequently I have noticed a pattern with these.
First of all none of them have compared to the first which is by far my favorite for several reasons. The main reason being that it is one of the only ones where the kids get seperated from their families and they search to be with them. In EVERY other movie I own the kids run of on their on there own without their parents!!! This drives me crazy! There are great morals in most of these stories but the fact that nearly every movie they run off behind their parents back annoys me to no end. What kind of message does that send our kids??
In this one Spike meets other Spiketails and decides to go off with them. Which I guess shows a true tail an adopted child could feel. So Ducky wants to go get her brother and decides to go off on her own to get him back in a blizzard. Her other friends find out she went off on her own and of corse go too. So yup they go off again without their parents. The only good thing is that meet an elder, who has own stories to tell. The elder goes with the children so they are not on their own. Of corse they meet a sharpteeth on the way. They all end up together in the end and it is ood story about family. Overall a pretty good sequal.
