For one of the final games of the original SNK run and one of the few games that SNK touted as a 2-D masterpiece, it is a sure-fire hit. The resolution is top-notch, the characters are truly unique re-imaginations of actual figures from that period of ancient Japan, and the gameplay mechanics are phenomenal. If this was to be the direction of the Samurai Shodown series, it was a wise move to make. If you are a fighting game enthusiast and you don't own this game, you had better get with it, and now!

I know it's 2015, but even to this date they are re made Halo, Gears of War next tear, re made Sleeping Dogs etc. I love retro video games , to me all games nowadays are amazing online games to play that's about it... In this story mode there's only up to 8 levels but I love how a 1999 or 2000 what ever, this game was ahead of it's time in my opinion. (In 1999 I never owned this game, I owned a dreamcast and had Capcom Vs SNK, Street Fighter 3) but I love this game a lot, I give it 4 stars because since it's 2015 only true retro gamers or gamers that love fighting games will really like this. My 12 year old cousin gets so mad and tells me to play Mortal Kombat X or Halo Master Chief instead, he only loves this games cause of the grapchics... To me this game was ahead of it's time, these grapchics looks better than most xbox and PS2 and a few 360 and PS3 grapchics (non hdmi) once hdmi and 1080p was out I noticed a lot if young cats hate the old school games I play lol... It would be Awsome if they had sega dreamcast 2 remastered this game after 20 years it's release date with online game play! I know they are bankrupt but it would be so nice if they had a sega dreamcast 2 made in 2018 in Japan and a 2019 release in North America, a 20 year anniversary and remastered this game and others for 20 year anniversary... Most likely won't happen but if it did I'll pay 500 for a new sega dreamcast 2 and 65 for this to be able to play online with amazing grapchics...

This game is pretty fun, but in general I feel that it's kinda lackluster. I really enjoyed the first Last Blade which I have on the PSone. But this doesn't really do much for me as a good enough sequel. If you've never played Last Blade, then I can recommend Last Blade 2, since it is a very well developed game. It's definitely a good clean alternative to Samurai Spirits, acting as a very good weapons-based fighter.
