4.0 out of 5 stars the last confession August 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a fairly common premise type and this tale (for any who commonly read thrillers, mysteries, etc) is predictibly obvious. However, that does not hamper any reader from enjoying this particular version. The author manages to fit in a full story over very short span. This short is only 22% of the total download with rest dedicated to other works.

An angel of mercy or a devil in disguise? A mafia type is in hospital teetering on critical condition. There are two police guards posted and no visitors allowed. As last rites have been requested for patient, a priest is allowed in to hear the crime guy's confession and perform the rites. This short is well told, dialogue is believable and it was a quick read (under 15 minutes).

It is a good advert for author ability and I will pick up another work of his.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord June 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In "The Last Confession," mobster Silvio Mancini is in a hospital's intensive care unit after taking three slugs in his chest from a rival gang. He's on life support and may not make it, so his priest, Father Francesco Moretti, is called to his bedside to hear his confession and administer the last rites.

In a surprise twist, Father Moretti brings peace to the grievously wounded Mafioso, but not in the way that Mancini expected. To say any more would be a spoiler and give away the great ending of the story.

This was the second short story by author Ethan Jones that I've read, and I'm impressed with his creative storylines and polished writing style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Ethan Jones Truimph June 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have now read two short stories and one novel by Ethan Jones. He has kept me captivated at all times. He does not write contrite stories - they are thought provoking, entertaining, and just plain good plots. His characters are engaging and drag the reader onto the page. I am really looking forward to his next offering in the spring.

1.0 out of 5 stars An offensive little story... October 30, 2012
By swp
Format:Kindle Edition
This short story managed to be rather poorly written, and offensive in just a few short pages. If you value your Catholic faith, you will not like this short story. Jerky action, and predictable. Not even worth reading for free.

Another great book by Ethan Jones. I must say that he picked an interesting murderer. It would be nice if he did more of these stories. Nice short read if you like short stories.
