Editorial Reviews

Review

"A poignant memoir...of one of New Hampshire's leading political ladies...matriarch...and philanthropist." -- Shawn K. Wickham, The Union Leader, October 24, 2004

"Kuster's book about her mother's experience with Alzheimer's is an inspiration...reminds us that what matters is life." -- Rebecca Rule, Concord Monitor, Portsmouth Herald, Nashua Telegraph, November 14, 2004

From the Publisher

Equally well-received by medical and political leaders...

" I highly recommend The Last Dance to anyone who is caring for a family member with Alzheimer's. It should be required reading for health care professionals who work with people with the disease, or their families. I have read a great many personal accounts of Alzheimer's, and this is one of the very best." Robert B. Santulli, M.D., Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Chair, Medical Advisory Council, Alzheimer's Association of Vermont & New Hampshire

"The Last Dance is a testament to Susan’s optimism and commitment to others, providing hope to families who are coping with aging and Alzheimer’s disease, and inspiration to women interested in making the world a better place by becoming involved in politics." Kate Michelman, Past President NARAL, Washington, D.C.

I was very interested in the subject matter of the book "The Last Dance" by Anne McLane. Living near Newfound Lake and having heard a lot about their family, I was also interested in learning more about the family history. Anne was a lovely daughter and commited to her mother's care.

Well written and informative. Brings the reader to a greater understanding of the heartbreak of the disease, nd opens a geteway to closure.
