More About the Author

George P. Saunders occupies his time on Planet Earth in the lovely town of Beverly Hills, California. He is the author of the celebrated crime thriller Gray Area, along with ten other novels in the science fiction, young adult and horror genres, as well as non-fiction humor and satire. He has over 25 films either produced, directed or written and more than a dozen more which he has co-starred in with such notable celebrities as Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin in Hunt For Red October (as George Winston), Joey Travolta, Richard Lynch, C. Thomas Howell and Mickey Rooney. Saunders was the head writer on the reality series for Military Films during the Gulf War, wherein he worked with the Navy Seals and other combined elements of the United States Armed Forces. While not writing, acting or doing other entertainment related 'stuff', Saunders is known to enjoy a fine tequila on occasion, followed by a dry Cabernet.

If you've read the Lord of the Rings, I say read, and I liked the characters that appear Elves, you'll love this book, wonderful story of fiction.

I usually read more hard core science fiction, but decided to read this after my kids got it, read it, liked it.

Holy cow I simply cannot believe how horrible this book is.... and Im extremely disappointed in Amazon users for giving this more than 2 Stars. It feels like it was written by a fifth grader. The characters talk to themselves in a schizophrenic manner more consistent with Dr Seuss than anything else. Its even set in "old tyme" typewriter font which makes it difficult to read. I didn't make it more than 50 pages before I had to delete it from my Kindle and Im actually upset I spent .99 cents on this. It's also quite apparent that ALL of the reviews that artificially attempt to inflate this writer's ratings were done by the same group of people.. if you check their Other Reviews, they are all George Saunders books. Shame on you for trying to trick us into buying your book with false reviews. It fooled me into buying this garbage, but hopefully this review will help steer everyone else to better literary works.

This book was poorly written and even worse editing. Several incidents of assigning the wrong name to a givien character, and misspelling was rampant. Fortunately the price was negligible. I read the book after reading The Red Wolf series, which was well written, so my disappointment was all the worse. The story was ok, but it was pretty basic, even for a children's book (I assume that's the target audience.) Dick and Jane go to doofus land. Sorry.

Just a question: how can he be the last elf if he's going to do battle with the Black ELF? Seems there are two of them, nicht wahr?

Font is difficult. Lacks depth. Not what I thought it would be. Did not really enjoy this book at all. Disappointed.

Though it's a story set for children, I really enjoyed this book. George has a fascinating way of sharing a fantasy that kids will love

I got this book for my grandson to read after he finished his computer homework at our house. He said it was a funny book to read, and thought the dog Junket was really funny. All in all, I was glad that I got this book. for him
