This was a very interesting book, mixing sword and sorcery with mythology. The characters and the relationships between them were both odd and often confusing. Now I'm not one to say how mythological gods act or why they do the things that they do but some of their actions were just plain confusing. It seemed like this was a series condensed down into one book were someone, something, or some place is thrown out there with no real explanation as to who, what, or where it is.
The action scenes where cool and left you on the edge of your seat but once again a lot of what happened during these fights is never explained (powers being used etc.). But it was still fun to read.
Although this book leaves much to be desired in the way of details, the rest of the story and character interactions makes up for that. Worth a look and I will be purchasing the second installment...now.
