Book Description

Summer, sisterhood and sacred answers in paradise. You’re invited to find your mojo at THE LAST RESORT.

Mojo and fitness guru, Rachel Woods, takes the women through adventures on the magic island to discover their deepest desires and fears. Readers will catch up with characters from Lott's previous novels: Ramona (Dating da Vinci), Taylor (The Stork Reality), Macy (Fixer Upper), Georgia (Life’s a Beach) and get introduced to Kelly, who gets her own novel, Something New, in Fall 2012.

The six women converge at the luxury resort in Maui at a time when their lives are at a crossroads, personally and professionally. From the workaholic Taylor, to the newly-divorced mom with the identity crisis Georgia, to the broken-hearted Kelly, the island helps them find their own mojo for what matters most. And their fearless leader, Rachel, has a secret of her own that set the whole chain of events in motion.

The Last Resort is Lott's sexiest read to date and sure to be a popular beach read for women everywhere. Readers may especially wish they had magic chocolate and the Kealoha brothers on the mainland.

The ebook novella is the perfect length to take on a summer trip or afternoon by the pool.

From the Author

Aloha!
While all books are a labor of love, The Last Resort is especially special, because it includes all the main characters from my novels, set at a mojo conference for women in Maui. Writers often get asked, "what happened to..." and we get to go on the journey with my characters in Hawaii as they search for their own sacred answers.
So, here are the conference attendees and where you may have first met them. You don't need to read the other books first--The Last Resort is a stand-alone story--but I hope you might be interested enough in them to seek out their original stories. And you're invited to find your mojo in The Last Resort.
  • Rachel, 34, first seen as Ramona's beautiful sister, making a name for herself as a fitness star and popular speaker, in Dating da Vinci. Since then, her fame has skyrocketed, becoming a New York Times bestseller with her "mojo" and fitness books, TV show and mojo conferences. But Rachel has a secret and she hopes the magic of the islands can give her the strength to share it.
  • Ramona, 37, our heroine in Dating da Vinci, a widowed mom of two boys and a linguist and professor at a university, agreed to come to her sister's conference since her boys would be away at camp and because she rarely gets to see her "superstar" sister. It's been three years since her husband died and her boyfriend is ready to make a commitment--but how will she ever know if her heart is safe?
  • Taylor, 30, owns Brand New Day, an ad agency in Texas, and shared her story of becoming a mom in The Stork Reality: Secrets from the Underbelly. Now her daughter is two and her agency is booming--but she's a workaholic who can't relax or release her grip on her iPhone. Big decisions loom: larger office space, more employees and two ad pitches the following week. She's come to the conference to speak on branding, but she really wants to learn from the other women the key to having it all and not going crazy in the process.
  • Kelly, 34, is Rachel's event planner and Taylor's friend and former office mate. Just before the conference, Kelly's live-in boyfriend, John, announced he was moving out, crushing her dream of a future with him and having a baby. With her biological clock ticking, she desperately wants a baby, but has lost all faith in love. She's searching for mojo and the courage to tackle her dreams on her own. Kelly is one of three main characters in my upcoming women's fiction novel, Something New, coming out Fall 2012.
  • Macy, 36, a mother of two girls, made a name for herself in the midst of a political scandal in Fixer Upper, when she left Atlanta during her husband's senatorial campaign and moved back home to eastern Oklahoma on her family's farm and vineyard. Now her remodeling business is booming and her popular web show has garnered attention by a national home improvement network. But she's newly engaged and the show would mean everything changes ... again. She's come to the island hoping for an answer to the right path to success.
  • And, finally. Georgia, 41, who got the surprise of her life in Life's a Beach, on a "second honeymoon," with her husband in Mexico, is still picking up the pieces and struggling with her identity since her life shattered. She's Taylor's cousin and was hired as the blogger for the conference. Georgia is ready to make a name for herself, but will love be in the air?
My hope is that as you attend the Mojo in Maui conference vicariously, you'll use the magic hook to get what you're searching for and support your girlfriends along the way.
Here's to summer, sisterhood and sacred answers!
Mahalo!

3.0 out of 5 stars Becky @ Book Bite Reviews July 19, 2012

The Last Resort just wasn't my cup of tea. It honestly just isn't the genre for me. Adult novels are usually not my thing, but I just thought since it was a novella that it might still work for me. It wasn't bad at all, it just wasn't fantastic. I honestly just couldn't connect with the main characters, mostly because of age difference, and because I haven't gone through the same struggles they have. Overall, though, it is a very nice story. I definitely emotion while reading it and it is only a novella (lol) I definitely suggest this if you have read Malena's previous books or are a fan of Adult contemporaries, especially since if you end up liking the main characters you can always go and read their full books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick Beach Read June 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Lott's latest book is a quick, fun beach read I easily finished in one afternoon. Love the characters, most are from other books she has written. I love Malena Lott's books, but this one stole my heart because it's just that good. And of course, I always love and appreciate a fast read.
