The Last Shaman is a rich transformative story created by a master of myth, of magic and of the subtle power of shamanic learning. In it William creates a magical realm that seems to contain everything the individual reader needs to guide their own steps, within the form of its story.

I was held fast by the energy and action of the plot, moved by the characters and their stories of growth and breakthrough, and brought to tears by the ending. There is so much to learn in this book. William knows what it means to choose growth and a life led by the principles of truth, love and service. He has guided thousands of people on this journey and lives it authentically himself. William's deep understanding of the pitfalls and challenges involved in choosing to be a creator, as well as the magical breakthroughs and breath-taking potential of living from our true selves is served to us here in a compelling, vivid, inspiring and above all practically valuable read.

The Last Shaman truly works to the shamanic principles of its title. "Shamanism...is about a journey to another realm, where the forces at play in the dimension can be harmonized to create a corresponding harmony in our world" (The Last Shaman). My experience of reading the book was that of diving into a metaphorical illustration of my own life, and of the ways I could work through and transform some of the areas in which I was feeling stuck. Everyone I have spoken to so far who has read it has had a similar experience. Within the story I received insight after insight into what I was playing out, and was reminded of the simple tools available to me to challenge and shift that experience to align with what the truth of what my heart would love.

Ok, so it has taken me three readings of The Last Shaman and another reading of William's first book The Magician's Way to finally write this review. The main reason for the delay is the depth of this book. Everytime I read the book I unwrap a few more layers to the onion. And with the unwrapping, understand a little more of the message and myself. Now the message and meanings for me will be different to what they are for you. And that is part of the beauty of this book. Every person can take what they need from it, I know this because a friend of mine has also purchased a copy and we have had some interesting discussions brought about by this book. So grab a copy now and start changing your life for the better.

"The Magician's Way was powerful and inspiring, with a message of focus. The Last Shaman held such deep inner truths it made it difficult to put down. It takes you on a journey of Soul recognition and explains why sometimes the Law of Attraction doesn't work. It offers Keys to guide you to the next level of our spiritual awakening. William once again weaves powerful truths in the form of a story you won't want to end!"
Enjoy,
With Love and an Open Heart,
Laurie

The Last Shaman by William Whitecloud is a smashing read! I loved it not only for the wonderful insights and wisdom, but also because it does not succumb to one of the pitfalls of which so many spiritual/personal development fables have fallen victim. It is actually well-written and therefore stimulating to the literary sense, as it delivers a beautifully rich unfolding of both profound and practical wisdom. There is much gold to be found within its precepts.

I was riveted and thoroughly entertained by the story as it deftly manages to bridge esoteric themes with the subjective human experience. The result is a practically applicable roadmap to authenticity that acknowledges both human frailty and greatness. It manages to avoid preaching a doctrine of mastery but rather offers an invitation to explore and materialise what is highest in ourselves. The Last Shaman is truly a significant contribution to the evolution of human consciousness.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Last Shaman which is full of insightful perspectives. Having had dozens of self-help and motivational guests on my radio show during the past 3 years I would place this book, and it's author, William Whitecloud as one of the top 5 most effective in presentation of material that can alter one's perspective and life. The setting in Africa is captivating and with such detailed descriptions of the scenes that one can easily be transported to the action and become a part of the book. This is one book with lessons that I will be talking about and recommending for a long time. My interview with William Whitecloud can be heard at [...] ~ Robert Sharpe, Mystical Cruise Show host

I have come to believe that the whole world is full of lessons that are meant to teach us and aide us in our quest. We just have to open ourselves up to the possibilities. In his book THE LAST SHAMAN author William Whitecloud takes us into situations where Mark Vale is able to learn from his surroundings and in the process get to know himself a little better as well.

I understand that there is another book before this one---one I haven't read---but I think you will be ok reading THE LAST SHAMAN by itself. The character Dumani tells Vale something he had learned himself: "How easy it is to be seduced by reason when you don't have the key to the whole truth." This means that with the truth we can help in creating the world that we want. Our future doesn't have to be set. We can decide to be active participants in the change we want.

This lesson shows itself later in the book where Vale is reminded of the importance of transcending our circumstances. This came to him at a time of loss, but it is a discovery that can do much to shape who we are and how we can deal with the world around us.

Whitecloud is a storyteller that can give us valuable information in the guise of fiction. That is what makes the book so powerful, and the message so timely and profound.

Regardless of what you might believe THE LAST SHAMAN will draw you in through its story but give you the tools need to transform the way you see yourself. Who could ask for more than that?
