Format: Paperback
I've been an attorney for 22 years and I took away a great deal from this book. In addition to his insights regarding the attorney-client relationship, which are illustrated through a parallel story of a woman's search for her pioneer husband, Mr. Duvall displayed an indepth knowledge of Oregon geography and history. The combination made this book a fast and easy read which left a lasting impression on me. I recommend it to anyone interested in the practice of law and in the study of human dynamics.

Format: Paperback
Hugh Duvall gives life and spirit to the everyday workings of the legal field and feeds the imagination with his vignettes of a frontier guide in 1842 Oregon. I love this book! Having worked in the legal field for 30 years, it truly resonated with me. I found myself anxious to see what happened next and the correlation between the present-day lawyer and frontier guide were delightful. I'll read this again and think that anyone, from the layperson to the seasoned veteran in the legal field will enjoy the journey Hugh Duvall takes you on.
