Every spring the kite festival is celebrated in China. To celebrate this special day, a boy and his grandfather make a beautiful kite, but the string breaks and the kite sails away. The grandfather tells the boy the legend behind the festival and the boy is inspired to build a new kite. The Legend Of The Kite: A Story Of China is a splendidly written and drawn picturebook which will enchant young readers from first page to last.

The story may seem a little dated, but it is a very vibrant story and has beautiful illustrations. It is a good book for a multicultural selection.

This is a beautiful written story with beautiful illustrations. Thrilled to have it as part of our collection both for the literary value (multicultural at that!) and the gorgeous artwork.

The artist co-author is exceptional. If you appreciate Chinese art and stories you may see and hear a lot. A child should enjoy the artwork and story from a simplistic vein.A book that says, more, is not a bad idea for children.who often read little more than is required.
