I hesitate to criticize this movie, because it hurts Sotterley, but this was terrible. The story of Sotterley and the potential for ghosts is impressive, and the plantation is beautiful. I liked hearing the story from the eyewitnesses, but the actual "ghost investigation" was terrible. The people kept talking, and there is nothing more annoying on ghost investigation programs to hear people talking, and then hear "Did you hear that?" the people in the room inevitably say they did, but the viewer just heard the live people talking, The footage in the slave cabin, what they say is drums, my husband and I easily dismissed as the equipment.

For the record, I borrowed this from the library, and am glad I didn't pay for it. I hope a professional team comes in and investigates this location. Would love to see Sotterley gain more national recognition, because it's a lovely piece of Maryland history. This just isn't the right video for the location.

Home video's being sold as a documentary? Limited expertise and filming skills. Poor quality, overall. Don't spend your money here.
