People who are rating this 1 star because they bought the wrong book are just stupid!
on January 24, 2013
I'm really only reviewing this because it's irritating to see all these negative reviews from people who bought the wrong book. If you can't read a title and the author's name, how are you going to read a book?
That said, I just read part way through the book which seemed like fortune cookie sized tidbits on everything in the self help world from the law of attraction, power of now, Chopra, Robbins, yada, yada... This was based on the author's emails and feels a bit that way. Notes from a person searching for something and taking bits and pieces from every self help new age "guru" and chunking it down in ways that made sense for the author.
There is nothing new here, but if you've never read any new age law of attraction or self help books, this is kind of like the Cliff Notes meets the Learning Annex version... I don't think the author was trying to fool anyone with the title, it just seems like a person searching for his own enlightenment and wanting to share it with others...
I'm sure there will be people who will find this meaningful, but as someone who used to work for the Learning Annex in LA, I have heard, met, read every metaphysical/self help/new age/self-improvement author/speaker/guru and I've become a bit jaded to it all... But if you're at a point in your life where you're searching for the meaning of it all and haven't read all the other books, this could be the book for you.
